Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Grin Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever. Grin

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

Phew.......

Sorry if I have left anything out!!!!!!! 😬

I have no idea why Mal set light to the cafe, let alone why he stayed in there afterwards

The Fire Brigade are virtually redundant on Corrie, it is always sorted out by have-a-go heroes.

I think Mal was caught in the act. He said Roy had started all this by writing to Alice so he had to pay. Don’t know why the ‘leccy was off though beforehand. I thought Roy’s flu was going to be CO2 poisoning.

Mal "running away" made me laugh. It was very half hearted as if actor had had to do several takes!

Shellingbynight · 13/04/2026 08:59

Ridiculous scenes with George. Christina makes everything into a panto.

I liked the scenes with Todd and Summer though. Summer has been very good in this storyline since Billy’s death.

The fire was ridiculous. But Jodie did a good thing, which makes a change.

I think Mal put the leccy off so that the cafe would be shut. But it didn't really make sense.

The bad character being the hero is a bit of Corrie cliche but Jodie went in there without a thought to her nails!

Yet even when she came out the Firemen were just hanging around waiting, they were getting the hose out but nobody went in to help her

George's fan club was absurd. It is a bit weird an undertaker having regular customers let alone a bunch of devotees.

Frankly, I would be happy for Resteasy to do my funeral - go for the cheap and cheerful option

That bit was so cringeworthy, I was actually squirming.

Mal started ranting on about how Roy shouldn't have gone for his wife Alice or some garbage like that! Bit silly and random. But Mal is pretty unhinged.

Theo locking Todd in the bedroom was odd. And I am pretty sure the bedroom has a window. I'm sure I saw one. Poor Todd, I really hope he can get away from evil Theo. I feel sorry for Summer too. Just about to lose her last parent. 😢 She has grown on me a lot this past few months...

Also agree about the have-a-go heroes. In real life, the vast majority of people would not run into a burning building to save some random they barely know.

I also agree that George's little fan club was batshit. Appalling acting. 😆 I've honestly seen better from my local market town am-dram group! It was like a naff advert on afternoon telly on channel 5! They're shit, with poor actors too!

It would have been better if Mal was shouting "I hate this grubby little cafe, I am going to burn it down so he has to replace it with something nicer"

Bonbon21 · 13/04/2026 13:23

I thought Todd was putting his suitcase in a cupboard in the bedroom and that Theo locked the cupboard with Todd inside.

Shellingbynight · 13/04/2026 13:49

The entire George storyline has been awful. The business will now mysteriously revive and that we'll hear no more about it, I don't know what the point of it was.

The storylining for Todd is still off key. He strongly suspects (more less knows) that Theo killed Billy yet he went home with him. He had the perfect opportunity in the pub to say no I'm not coming back home. But for plot reasons he has to go home and get locked in the bedroom.

@zanahoria I thought at the time they were making Jodie a new 'Becky', who worked in the cafe and hated everyone but became very fond of Roy (and Hayley). Unfortunately nowadays they don't redeem characters they just chuck them in the bin.

That makes sense. We saw Theo lock a door and then come through another door into the main part of the flat. I couldn't work out why there were 2 doors into the bedroom.

Jodie is working with Mal, but how are they connected? She only pretended to lock the café when she left. Can't work out if the electric was genuinely broken, or if it was done on purpose so Jodie had an excuse not to open up.

Thewaterboy · 13/04/2026 15:59

Mal reminds me of Fagin from the original Oliver Twist film.

JadeSeahorse · 13/04/2026 16:09

Thewaterboy Ron Moody - yes definitely! 😁

sorryIdidntmeanto · 13/04/2026 16:19

It is in again tonight. I might have already watched it.

Its not 2 mins since we had Carla shut in a cupboard by undead Becky.

TheHillIsMine · 13/04/2026 20:39

Roy coughed and now he's in a hospital bed. Have I missed an episode?

thenightsky · 13/04/2026 20:42

Ah, Todd isn't in a cupboard.

bizzey · 13/04/2026 20:42

@TheHillIsMine ..there was an episode last night .
I can tell you about if you are not going to watch it .

bizzey · 13/04/2026 20:44

They have a very big bedroom considering the size of the flat .

Looks like there is a corridor that the bedroom is off .

thenightsky · 13/04/2026 20:46

Is this the flat that Todd shared with Sarah when they first got together?

TipsyPeachSnake · 13/04/2026 20:55

Ooh Sal, Debbie, Glenda’s etc planning to go away. That could be a fun episode.

TipsyPeachSnake · 13/04/2026 20:58

Poor Todd 😢

Have to say actor playing Theo was brilliant tonight.
