Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Grin Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever. Grin

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

Phew.......

Sorry if I have left anything out!!!!!!! 😬

What in the name of god was that? They didn’t show Debbie’s appeal, suddenly she’s just plonked onto a swing. What was the basis for her appeal? We have no idea. What was the point of her going to jail at all? I thought it would result in Carl showing his human side, but it did not change him one iota.

And then the Jim’s yer dad storyline is abruptly revealed, for no particular reason, with all of them looking a bit fed up about the shoddy storylining.

I agree Steve and Ben are good fun together "what do you want, a party? Want to go paintballing?" so at least there's that.

Oohhh ...Jodie has been mentioned on Emmerdale by Graham!

He has been beaten up for letting her escape !!

Edited

Can you elaborate a bit, please?

Not an Emmerdale watcher, unless I switch on for Corrie, and catch the last few minutes of an episode, but I do have a vague idea of who Graham is.

Who was he talking to about her, and was there any mention of why she'd been kidnapped/tied up?

The young girl she was talking to a couple of weeks ago - is she in Emmerdale? If so, whose child is she? Was Jodie a childminder/nanny in the village?

DaisyStarburst · 06/04/2026 11:43

Another one thinking I've missed an episode, what terrible scriptwriting.

Deadringer · 06/04/2026 11:46

The driscolls ages dont really seem to work. Maggie said that jim was 22 when she meet him and got pregnant. We assume that Steve was already born as he is older than Ben, so was perhaps a toddler. Steve is what 51? The maggie actress is only 62, I know they aged her up to 65 for corrie, but that still only makes her a teenager when Ben was born, yet she was already married. Unless I misheard when she said Jim was 22?

bizzey · 06/04/2026 11:52

@HurdyGurdy19 ...I will try !
I tend to rabbit a lot when explaining things so I will try and bullet point the important things.

Graham is from Emmerdale and was the van driver that had Jodie in the back tied up.

After the crash he appeared back on Emmerdale, which was a shock as he had 'died ' 6/7 years ago !!

He has a connection with Rhona the vet , old lovers.

Rhona's step - daughter is missing after getting involved in human trafficking.

Graham finds her and tells Rhona he is working on a big case for high up people.

Now ...3/4 months later...

Rhona gets a call to go up the the big house to treat a horse.

She finds Graham slumped in the stables beaten up .

While cleaning him up up , he says it was the people higher up ( ..not yet been explained who they are ) who had him beaten up because he let go /lost Jodie .

Rhona has not yet questioned him who Jodie is .

So we don't know any more than that, but it was a blink and you miss it ... especially if you don't watch Corrie !

Phew !! 🤣🤣🤣

Think of all the money they've saved by not showing the appeal hearing. They have either assumed we could work it out or don't care if anyone's confused. Or maybe they were going down the arthouse route again (which wasn't very impressive before) with Debbie on the swing and Annie Lennox doing her thing.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 06/04/2026 12:21

I think the ‘jump in time’ was probably due to Easter and the way it’s been an scheduled due to football. Last Friday (bank hol), we saw scenes of George in court, so that was a bit odd! Perhaps they’ve cut & paste in editing to bring us back to Easter Sunday (yesterday).

Shellingbynight · 06/04/2026 12:21

@Deadringer She definitely said 22, I had the subtitles on.

Wiki says Jim was born in 1955, and married Liz in 74, the same year Steve and Andy were born. Steve is 52 in June. Wiki has Ben's DOB as 'around 1979', Ma was born in 1960.

@LesserSpottedCharacter yes I agree it was a money saving exercise, avoiding showing the appeal. Then they dressed it up as 'art' with Debbie on the swing.

eggandonion · 06/04/2026 13:29

Im a bit like the women Daniel gets involved with who aren't keen on art house movies.

So ma was married and pregnant by another man by about age 18, and Jim was married and a dad at 19/20. If Ben is about 47 he was also a young dad, assuming that Ollie is mid 20s. I suppose its no more unlikely than any of the other stuff that's going on.

Yes when you put it in the context of Debbie magically appearing on a swing after an invisible appeal over Easter, the Driscoll stuff doesn't look so unlikely!

Plus for some reason she decided that 1970s Belfast was just the place for a Catholic girl from the Republic to move to and then thought why not date a soldier in the British army?

Catholic women who dated British soldiers faced all kinds of recriminations and it was probably worse if they were already married.

HurdyGurdy19 · 06/04/2026 15:34

Thank you @bizzey - I understood all of that 😄

Having just been to see Friends - The Musical Parody, one song was about Monica affording the huge flat and was about suspending your disbelief. I think the Corrie writers must have seen it too.

FuckaboutFindout · 06/04/2026 17:36

Hobestly Im glad we did have to go through Debbies appeal and all the anguished face pulling she does
Carl is a PoS though and no doubt will be after the hotel once,Debbie gets further into memory loss

suburburban · 06/04/2026 17:54

zanahoria · 06/04/2026 10:12

I doubt anyone can, not even the scriptwriters.

It is like Becky with the Bad Hair, we just have to move on and be thankful there are no more boring prison scenes

Yes I hate the prison scenes, seem superfluous

Gingercar · 06/04/2026 21:22

Just checking in -.glad everyone else is as baffled as I was by Debbie being out. We went out on Friday, I thought I’d not recorded something!
Gutted to see Carl back and getting money from Debbie. And Ryan seems to do every job going in that hotel. He’s on the computer as manager, serving drinks in the bar, acting as security every time Mal and Bernie are there, bursting into hotel rooms!

Empress13 · 06/04/2026 21:35

See the scriptwriters read MN we miraculously see both Abi and Asha tonight after long absence

Shellingbynight · 06/04/2026 22:01

At last Debbie has given Carl to heave ho.

There are so many storylines which have gone round in circles for months, and are now being abruptly shoved onwards - Debbie and Carl, Theo and Todd. the Driscolls with Will/Megan and with Ma/Ben/Jim, All to fit in with the flash forward from the 23rd.

Debbie did look fabulous though.❤

Hopefully, Debbie sticks to giving Carl the heave-ho, and doesn't just 'forgive him' AGAIN!
