Motherland, what else might I like?

Very late to Motherland but I’ve really enjoyed it. Not finding Amandaland quite as good due to the dynamic of the original cast.

What else can I watch?

These are not quite the same vibe but some similar elements - worth a try.

The Four Seasons on Netflix. Also riot women and Alma’s not normal. Stick with riot women it gets better and better.

I just watched Riot women this week and bloody loved it. The menopause stuff is a bit cringe but other than that that it’s amazing. And they are making a second series. Yay.

I’d forgotten how funny this was. Just been watching again on iPlayer. Crying with laughter at some of the episodes.

Trying. First season is on iPlayer and the other 3 seasons are on Apple TV. Best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Heartfelt, hilarious in places, seems so realistic, and just generally ticks all the boxes of a great TV series. Apple offer a week free trial, so if you like it on iPlayer, I recommend bingeing the others on Apple in a week 😉😉

I came here to recommend Trying - the first series was brilliant. I didn’t realised there were others - off to find them later!

The Other One is another Holly Walsh offering. Siobhan Finneran is brilliant.

The Windsors I don’t think has been mentioned.

Raised by wolves. (The comedy 2013 not the sci fi) very clever and very funny.

link to the Guardian review - I wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for this. The sibling relationships are just lovely and it’s laugh out loud funny.

Dinosaur season two review – this hilarious, heartwarming comedy is a classic

It’s refreshing, groundbreaking and absolutely piles up the gags. The return of autistic heroine Nina is a very happy one indeed

They write the characters with such generosity and affection. I love the friendship between Nina and Declan too.
