Anyone watch this?

The last episode felt like the most crazy almost

You could tell Ben was uncomfortable at times.

But surely the dogs don't have enough room if they're traveling all day for lots of days cooped up in that thing?

I love this show, have watched all the episodes.
Are you talking about the woman dragging a wooden caravan along a motorway? Was totally nuts. Also, Ben didn’t ask how she bought things. Or what she did with her day really. I also like it when he meets the family.

Yes that's the one I'm talking about!
You're right he didn't ask about those things
I did kind of feel like he didn't get as much out of her as he usually does with people though...

i watched that last week felt sorry for the animals

CurbsideProphet · 06/03/2026 21:07

This one was so unusual. We presumed the lack of chat and details about her life was due to them walking along the highway for 8 hours a day. I don't think Ben Fogle will agree to another one like this which is understandable. He's usually very amenable to fitting in with the lifestyle, but walking along the hard shoulder for hours must have been horrible.

Yes you could tell he didn't like it (which was the first time I've seen that on the programme)

He did ask her how she paid for things and she said she made leather goods that she sold. I didn't hear much more than that. I felt very sorry for the animals being dragged down the highway like that. It looked like some mad travelling circus.

I didn't see this episode, and in fact have only seen the show sporadically over the years (though have really liked some episodes, like the young Italian woman, Annalisa living offgrid in rural Sweden) -- but that some of the participants clearly have significant additional needs and/or MH conditions, and have embraced remote living not as a choice but because they couldn't hack it in the world of people. I thought some of them seemed very vulnerable, while others were forcing their children to essentially grow up sequestered from the world in a way that was disturbing. Sometimes it has seemed like a study in people dealing with poor MH or social difficulties via withdrawal.

late to this, watched it yesterday. was an odd one as Ben was not happy.
after the previous one where the couple did every thing to look after animals, this one seemed the opposite. the pigeons and dogs running a long a busy road, or shut in the whole time.

purpleme12 · 20/03/2026 08:13

It was so strange wasn't it
And different
