I like Daniil in the lilac colour. I hated the horrible green he was wearing before. Maybe he's had his colours done.

I’m also rooting for Daniil - he can be quite annoying but he does make me laugh and it’s good to see him back on form - not sure if I’ll be able to stay awake for the whole thing though

I was the same, saw the first set, drifted off (though have figure out how to watch Sky/Virgin tvgo on my phone again, so that's a bonus!).

It was 2 close sets, and not many manage that with Jannik- Daniil is going in the right direct.

I'd love to see him in a slam final (preferably winning another one, this time!).
Won't be RG though, I don't think - clay still isn't really his thing. Maybe I'll hold out for the US Open.

There were definitely positives for Daniil, although it must be hard to lose in straight sets when both sets could have gone either way. He was probably the better player from the back of the court, but struggled to win any points on Jannik’s first serve and made mistakes on a few critical points that ended up deciding the match. That decision to leave a ball when he was standing at net during the first set tiebreak is going to haunt him.

The Miami men's draw has thrown up some potential upsets- obviously the seeds have byes in the first round- but players like Stef and Berrettini are low in the rankings and don't have one. Stef could face De Minaur, Matteo could face Bublik. Casper might face Hubi in the second round,
Carlos could face Fonseca in the second round- there will be a lot of Brazilians around for that one.

Oh, and Emma Raducanu has withdrawn. But that's about as surprising as Djok withdrawing at this stage, really.

She had a bye, and was due to play either Stearns, or Sonay Kartal in the second round.

It’s a shame Emma’s had to withdraw, as she’s got a lot of points that will now drop off and she’ll slip back down the rankings. As you said though Raahh it’s not really a surprise - she hardly ever seems to play two tournaments in a row now.

Sonay’s also withdrawn from Miami due to her back which is also a shame for her.

I saw in the early hours that Sonay had withdrawn, given her back issues, that makes sense. I hope she gives herself time to recover.

Fery and Clarke in 2nd round of qualifying but Billy Harris suspended towards end of 1st set, so I'm guessing rain in Miami.

Everyone who entered the Wimbledon ballot, please keep an eye on your emails. They are inviting people who weren't successful in the ballot to purchase resale tickets, but you have to be quick. I had an invitation this afternoon and had a full choice of sessions. I opted for Day 6 Centre Court.

Fingers crossed for you Chessie! I think the main resale will open next week, but they seem to be randomly inviting some people to purchase in advance. I'm in a local tennis WhatsApp group and one of the guys in that also had an email a couple of days before I got one, so I'm guessing it's every day this week.
