Million Pound Shaman Scam - Small spoilers

I can't find a thread on this. Has anyone watched it? I am in bed with a heavy cold and just watched both episodes. Would love to discuss it.

How could so many people be so hoodwinked. I am sure the osteopath is innocent but I found myself croaking out loud - are you actually stupid?

A single internet click would tell them that most shamans charge a nominal fee for a session and heal within that fee. That's if you believe that stuff anyway. But to unquestioningly believe her outlandish tales without even going to a GP for a check up. It is weird.

And all that rotting meat? Did anyone investigate what it was?
And how come after being accused in Surinam she ends up shacked up with the Head of Police. It's almost as if she actually did have some evil power over people, and cast spells on them. (I don't believe this could be true, but I wonder how they were so readily gullible so quickly.)

Yes I found it fascinating. I live not far from there so it was nice to see some of my coffee spots. I don’t know about the osteopath he was innocent up to a point but anyone would k ow it’s a scam. Would you really abort a longed for baby because some woman told you to? Didn’t she have any scans? It makes no sense

That's what I don't understand - the aborted longed-for baby. Or believing you will get cancer without any medical check ups and yet thnking that putting cash in an envelope with prevent this. When he said, "And I'd get the £25k back, so I knew it was legitimate." How gullible is it possible for a grpwn man to be. What did he expect? That a fraudster would say: 'You've seen the back of this forever?' Of course she'd promise the money would be returned.

Did none of them have the internet? Did none of them look up shamanism and dscover that if they wanted to believe in it there were probably dozens of shamans within walking distance who charge £20 a session to shake a bit of incense and chat and drum around you - healing, if you are that way inclined, for next to nothing. Did none of them think: well if the spirits can heal my friend/child/sister/me, then I will go and pray in church for free?

There must be a certain mindset that she could sniff out, that belived throwing money at things is the best answer.

The osteopath is so odd. i suspect he was mid nervous breakdown when she met him. But he scurried around as her gofer, let her use his account and made himself liable for her debts without ever thinking this was odd? I foudn him so hard to believe. I don't think he was masterminding it, but it is so hard to believe he never questioned what he was doing.

I have just watched both programmes and am still processing it all.
My theory is that the woman is a psychopath and a sadist. I am not a medical professional, but they seem the only rationale.
The osteopath and others were very vulnerable and the scammer sensed that, but their lack of curiosity left me baffled, to say the least!

Also, the people who looked into her flats, found a monkey in a cage.
This is hard to think about, but I think there must have been animal abuse - with all that animal sacrifice. There was a close-up of a cat in one of the fridges, 😭
