TV for someone who's grieving

I lost my mum just after Christmas and I'm struggling. I need a TV series to watch to try to distract myself and wind my brain down in the evenings. Does anyone have any suggestions for comfort TV? The most comforting TV for me usually is Bake Off but I've seen them all, apart from the most recent festive specials which I don't want to watch because thinking of Christmas just hurts. If I hadn't seen the Good Place about 4 times I'd probably watch that (possibly an odd choice, I know).

I love to watch house or gardening programmes which don’t require any brain power, although when My Dad died I loved watching old programmes that he loved or ones that we watched when we were kids like Fawlty Towers.

bbc iPlayer also have good travel type series like Julie and Greg’s Wild Swim and my particular favourite Richard Ayoade’s Travel Man.

Have to third (?) Superstore. It's my go to for easy, funny viewing. We are on our third cycle through the series, I think there are six. They are only around twenty minutes long and it's very funny in parts and gentle, easy viewing.

Sorry to hear about your mum. When my boyfriend died a few years ago I watched After Life. Not lighthearted and fully addressed grief but was also very funny. I’m not a Ricky Gervais fan but it was just what I needed at that time, I cried and laughed all within the same episode and it helped me feel less alone in what I was feeling.

Shakespeare and Hathaway Investigates got us through. It’s very undemanding but really draws you in!

Was about to say the same.
