Apologies, I can’t see another thread so just starting this one in anticipation.

Can’t wait to see what the red cloak is all about!

They won’t always be able to though, there will probably be shields in the next task and people on the list will get banished.

Surely they can still put people with shields up just they won't get murdered. I really dont think they can deviate much, if its 3 different people every night thats a few nights and we know.

Whinge · 02/01/2026 18:15

If they're allowed to add names of those with a shield, then surely there's nothing stopping them from adding only names of those who have shields? Or all names with shield bar one, which spoils any cliffhanger endings from one episode to the next. It's much simpler to only allow those who are actually able to be murdered to be on the list.

ThatCyanCat · 02/01/2026 18:16

The Traitors don't need to get the ST out to win. The only reasons for it would be revenge, to get more control over murders and to get more of the pot at the end.

I think id want to get them out. They have control over decisions and would give the faithful a traitor, without actually giving them one of the 3. Id assume faithful are also only expecting 3

Sorry for disappearing, we’ve had some devastating news this afternoon and have had to have our much loved family cat put to sleep. I’ll catch up on things a bit later.

Sending all love - our old girl was 18.5 and she is still missed

I guess it would depend how they want to play the game. Would be an easy way to force them to murder someone. Its a wait and see, we still dont really know how it's going to work out. Rules might change, they might not be secret for the whole time

DarkForces · 02/01/2026 18:22

Presumably if the secret traitor is banished Claudia will recruit another one?

123ZYX · 02/01/2026 18:27

They don’t always know who has a shield - often they try to put a traitor on each team so that they can keep track of shields, but that wouldn’t be possible for the secret traitor. That would suggest that, unless the shields work differently this time (e.g. it’s always a reduced list eligible for murder like the coffin task) they can’t stop the secret traitor selecting shield holders. Equally, the traitors might not know who has a shield - in theory, they just realise at breakfast that they failed to murder.

TeideHeart · 02/01/2026 18:27

What do we think a really good ST would do with regards to how they play?

I think they'd stick to the same two names and add one. I think that's the best way to keep the numbers down. However, once they start to know the other players better it could be a good tactic to put down the names of the most gullible players so that the traitors have to get rid of at least one person they might like to keep in till the end.

They must be able to put the names of someone with a shield, I think. Because if they chose people who had shields then that might put the ordinary traitors completely off the scent. They'd be trying to work out who wouldn't know that person x had a shield.

If the ST played well, they could have two names of people with shields (that they think the other traitors know have shields), and one person they really want gone, therefore forcing the ordinary traitors to get rid of that person specifically.

Pretty much agree with this. Feel like its not going to be a secret for long with murders and banishment if they're picking different people every time.

Unsure on how exactly to play it, they could easily force the hand of traitors to throw them under the bus. Normally they try to avoid people who are suspicious so they dont say "they thought blah blah now theyve been murdered". Could easily put these people up. Depends if they want to work with or against the traitors

Spot on. That’s what I’d do.

I guess it depends on how long the producers intend the st stays secret . If the plan is for the traitors to figure it out then yes that’s the best method. If the secret traitor knows they are being revealed (to the traitor's) on say e3 then they could have some fun and really mess with the traitors

I'm puzzled by the posters saying that it looked like a woman's handwriting.

I remember studying the Mayor of Casterbridge for O Level back in the dark ages. Michael Henchard was angry with Elizabeth for writing in a masculine hand. I always thought that the concept of male handwriting styles and female writing styles was a Victorian idea.

Do men and women genuinely have different styles of handwriting nowadays? I

Yes. I teach year 1 and even that young boys and girls have different handwriting, even though I teach them handwriting and teach them all exactly the same.

Handwriting is a funny thing. My mum is a twin and her and her sister’s handwriting is identical to the point that if I get a card from one of them I can’t tell the difference on the envelope! They live in the same city so that post mark gives nothing away either!

Did anyone else find it a bit icky how Hugo kept referring to Claudia as things like Queen of death, and other weird almost pet names in the third person.

Yes. It was too much like sucking up. Really felt the ick

IVotedForYourself · 02/01/2026 19:45

My 12 yr old DS always gets complimented on his lovely handwriting by his teachers and TAs.
DH has beautiful handwriting too, he was taught by his dad.
Mine in comparison, is awful 🙈

Yes! Think he’s hoping they catch on or something - but came across weirdly and inappropriate

Yes, infuriating, and immature.

IVotedForYourself · 02/01/2026 19:50

Yes @MaggieFS it was so cringey. I was thinking I bet Claudia really regrets choosing him as a Traitor.
There's no need.

WriterOfWrongs · 02/01/2026 19:51

@CaveMum so sorry to hear about your cat Flowers

Re handwriting: I am left-handed woman and have been told by several different people that I write like "a left-handed boy". This was clearly never a compliment. I particularly appreciated it when it came from a client I was representing at an employment tribunal Hmm

EachandEveryone · 02/01/2026 19:52

My dad was left handed and he had beautiful writing too

I thought my handwriting was beautiful, but I got the impression my client and others who told me I wrote like a boy didn't agree Grin
