Carrying on with the love for the two Joes.

I’m not sure it’s that well known even in that age group. I’m late 40s and in my head it’s one my grandma would say, and it was in my Kate Greenaway treasury book, but I only ever really remember it from that. Not like lots of other nursery rhymes which are more widely known. I’ve got a pretty good memory for obscure rhymes of childhood and it was definitely one of the more buried ones.

I'm surprised.

I know that rhyme too. Goes back to the days before animal neutering, and litters of unwanted kittens (and no doubt puppies as well) were routinely chucked in and drowned in a nearby well. Horrible, really.

A lot of nursery rhymes have pretty disturbing origins. Odd really, but I guess we've always liked to terrify ourselves and our children!

I sort of know this one, as in when Celia said it it sounded familiar and I remembered the line 'Ding dong dell', but previously I wouldn't have remembered it if someone asked me to name some nursery rhymes, and I couldn't recite it like I could some others. I'm 50.

I remember ding dong dell and the next line but had forgotten the rest.

I'll have to wait until tonight's episode is up on dailymotion.

And she thought it double entendre, rather than a single one. You can admit it it’s okay.

I've just started watching the new series of the Diplomat which I'd forgotten Celia was in. She's so good. I hope they don't banish her too soon.

Didn't Jonathan Ross also publish a countdown to how many days until Charlotte turned 16?

Chris Moyles is supposed to have gotten into trouble over that not Jonathan Ross.

Why is everyone so keen to attach all sorts to Jonathan Ross? He is a man of his time, so edgy and probably, by today's standards unacceptable, in his dealings with adult women but he was never anything but kind to young people - Amy Winehouse and Charlotte Church being two examples. His interview with a young Amy Winehouse is lovely.

I'm only a year or two younger than Jonathan Ross and I don't really like or admire him despite being a devoted fan of The Last Resort etc at the time.

However, on this show, I think he's coming across quite well. Could all be in the editing of course.

Not that long ago it happened. My dad rescued a cat from a farm who was in a sack heading for the same fate….

DD has just told me about some online speculation about Celia’s role. I won’t paste the rumour just in case it’s true and it turns out to be a spoiler, but I will be watching her extra closely.

Have persuaded the dogs to go out early, so my plan is to watch in blissful peace. They’d better not decide they need another wee.

Where can I find the speculation? I’m not averse to spoilers!!

I’ve seen some online speculation about Celia’s role and think it’s just speculation and that it’s just based on how she’s decided to play the game rather than her having an actual “role”.
