Ooh is there any hope he wasn’t lamped with the rock and is alive???

It looked as if it was the end for Mack…am assuming it is 😟

JaneJeffer · 21/08/2025 21:03

I’m not convinced @ilovebrie8

anyone else ever randomly wonder how Aidan Moore is doing?

dottyshihtzu · 21/08/2025 21:04

The bow and arrow was foreshadowed, there was a photo of John holding it in the scrapbook!

The clobber with the rock looked a bit weird, could John have gone all Annie Wilkes and broken his leg with it so he couldn't run again or something? Not that Mack looked like he could anyway, the way he was breathing 😭

JaneJeffer · 21/08/2025 21:07

Possibly @dottyshihtzu

John gets off on saving people so how could he resist the opportunity to save Mackenzie and he was high as a kite when he turned up in the Woolie like we’ve seen him before after “rescuing” Cain and Jacob

Snozzlemaid · 21/08/2025 21:08

I’ve not seen tonight’s episode so not read the thread but have you seen Nicky Nacky’s going to be on Strictly?
Apologies if you’ve all discussed this hours ago 😂

Lionness5 · 21/08/2025 21:11

When the blanket was shown, someone underneath it was breathing..

MonickerMonica · 21/08/2025 21:25

That was all quite sickening to watch. Whether or not John smashed Mack's head in with la rock it seemed the arrow was killing poor Mack and he was deteriorating anyway. A tiny chance he's not dead and I hate to admit but I can't wait to see tomorrow night's show.

(Bad Robert may be re-emerging but I still love him. )😍

UneFoisAuChalet · 21/08/2025 21:29

I’ll preface this by saying that I have zero idea if Mac the actor is leaving. Just realised that they don’t put those mags near the checkouts anymore, so I don’t even spy a headline on the soaps anymore.

I like Mac, I bloody hated him during the Chloe crap, but he’s back in my good books and I think Charity is an absolute moron for being pregnant at 50 with her granddaughter’s baby when she knows how much Mac wants a baby. I think that baby will be Mac’s anyway…but I digress.

I’m assuming if Mac is leaving is because the actor wants out, so I can understand why the writers would use serial killer John for his exit. But DH reckons John was talking to a ‘live’ Mac when he got in the van and looked in the back saying ‘I told you I wasn’t a murderer.’

But that’s probably wishful thinking on my part.

RaraRachael · 21/08/2025 21:47

Agree with everything @ilovebrie8 said about new characters. They're all pointless and annoying.
I nearly laughed when John produced the bow and arrow and went rampaging through the woods like Robin bloody Hood. He is getting beyond ridiculous now.
Celia can just fuck off. I'm all in a muddle about which bits of land belong to who not that I actually care

PrincessScarlett · 21/08/2025 19:57

Yes. He had time to shout John killed Nate and he's about to kill me.

Anyone in that situation would surely try and phone for help whilst running, or as you say, answer and shout what's happening.

It's so frustrating when they dumb characters down to suit the situation instead of just writing it more plausibly.

Some very good points. I wouldn't put it past the writers to have Charity pregnant with Mackenzie's baby.

And yes, John could very well have been talking to a live Mackenzie. Let's hope so. Although it's going to be a very strange trip away with hostage Mackenzie in the back of the van.

JewelleryCat · 21/08/2025 22:31

If Lawrence Robb wanted to leave, why kill him off (if he is dead but it looks like it though I suppose there could be a twist). Why couldn’t he go visit Reuben or go with Cain to Australia and him and Charity could have space and rekindle their marriage from afar?

MonickerMonica · 21/08/2025 22:42

If John told Mack he was no murderer then what was he intending as he aimed and fired that arrow into Mack. Just scratch him? I think he DID intend to kill him but when he realised it hadn't instantly worked he then knew he'd have to finish the job but for some reason he devised another plan.

Gawd knows but we'll get more idea tomorrow. Maybe. 🙄

TheFormidableMrsC · 21/08/2025 23:04

I’ve only just watched but not before my friend text me to say “I can’t believe he’s killed Mac, what a load of shite” so that was marvellous 😆. I did find that all quite stressful, John is bloody horrible and sinister. I also couldn’t understand why Mac didn’t shout down the phone because I would have thought that would have made John exit very quickly. However, what else do we expect with the ridiculous writing. I also think the baby will turn out to be Mac’s. Can’t wait for tomorrow! Please don’t let him be dead. It won’t be the same without him!

JaneJeffer · 21/08/2025 23:22

Can I get soppy for a minute and just say the way Robert listens to Aaron, thinks about what he says and takes it on board is so gorgeous and he’s done it since day one. Sigh.

OK back to hating everyone now

Just caught up with tonight’s episode. There were 157 new posts on the thread when I opened it at 10.30pm!

Maybe I’m clutching at straws but I’m not convinced Mack is dead. I hope not. Roll on tomorrow evening.

They don't always tell us in the mags anymore. Heaths death was a shock and not mentioned anywhere.

Edited

Just fantastic chemistry between Ryan and Danny. I found their little goodbye scene heartbreaking. When Robert said "I still love you in this life" 😭

PrincessScarlett · 22/08/2025 07:47

The only reason for killing Mackenzie off is Vanity. Cue Vanessa swooping in to comfort a grieving Charity. It will make me do cross when that happens because Charity and Mackenzie were great together before the writers decided to ruin them.

Lionness5 · 22/08/2025 08:14

Yet again I find myself wishing the writers were reading this thread.

Putting Charity and Vanessa was stupid the first time never mind to do it again. But the actress who plays Vanessa is untouchable so we're stuck with her. She's not a nice character, she's not a good actress, I would not miss her.

Re Vinny, I've suspected he wasn't straight from the first episode and he does not fit with Gabby even if he was.

JewelleryCat · 22/08/2025 08:39

I do feel sorry for Gabby, she’s already had this with Nicky so why have the storyline again with Vinny? I do think Vinny and Gabby work and the writers should just leave them alone

Why is the 'Vanessa' actress untouchable??

I agree that her and Charity were/are a terrible match and join in the mourning for the very delicious Mack 😓

Surely, when this comes out (so to speak!), Gabby will turn gay (who could blame her) and perhaps cast her eye toward Vanessa thus swerving the blandness of the Vanity (re)coupling?

I think the actress who plays Vanessa is married to an Emmerdale producer so that’s why she’s untouchable

Wishimaywishimight · 22/08/2025 09:58

@JewelleryCat That is bad news indeed, she is most definitely not the most interesting or exciting character!
