You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

When Abbeh lunged at Kevin for that kiss she looked like a cod fish after it was caught. Big open mouthed shiny fat lips. 🐟

Other than that it was a normal hour of utter farce----

Did I blink and miss Tyrone forgiving Steve and Cassie for the naked bear assault on his eyeballs? They seemed very chummy in the next scene, more than I would have been if I'd found a couple cavorting in my kitchenloungediner.

I didn't realise DeeDee has a huge tattoo on her arm until tonight.

Agree with others here... Steve and Cassie - VOM. And yes to the Phoebe from Friends quote 'MY EYES, MY EYES!' And yeah he (Steve) needs to grow up. A man in his 50s living on a neighbour's couch with no fixed abode is mad (Obviously if there is no life issues/marriage break down/mental health issues.) And does he still have the taxi firm? I'm not sure.

DeeDee's tattoo doesn't suit her. (IMO.)

Sarah did look amazing tonight. She is very pretty. 😍 Eli is a bell end. Then again, so is Kit. Kit is power crazy and uses the fact he is a cop to throw his weight around!

I love Debbie, but she can over do the over acting sometimes. DeeDee has just become dull & boring.
And as for Steve & Cassie …..least said about those two the better.

I'd love to see him in the Rovers , although the way Corries' going they'll turn it into a gay bitch-fest and have him turn up as an over the top drag queen and ruin the whole thing.

I was only watching with half an eye but was the continuity a bit off with the Chuckle Brother's (I used to think he was quite handsome until a PP mentioned that 😂) facial hair?

The Steve/Cassie thing was just too much. Totally unnecessary and in no way funny. At all.

I know there are more absurd things in Corrie but this malarky of everyone declaring Alya to be brilliant and giving her jobs that are somehow meant to train her up to becoming a lawyer really bugs me, especially after she walked out on the last firm lucky enough to employ her. Not only is she a solicitor without any qualifications but some sort of crusading warrior who can pick and choose cases.

Again discussing legal cases in a public place ! Also kit left his computer on and walked (hobbled) away so anyone could read his screen.

Is Alya a solicitor? I thought she trained to be a legal secretary, I only half listen though. If they wait a few months they could employ Evelyn, though of course she might be a judge by then. I think that the Gov is on to Kit's shenanigans, if so he will be pulling pints in the Rovers before long. Though there was was all that stuff with Swain's counsellor reporting back to someone, so maybe Gov is dirty too.

I haven’t watched Corrie since the end of the 80s! I caught a bit last night and also felt sorry for the teddy bear. Can’t believe that Steve Mc Donald and our Tracy is still in it tbh. I didn’t recognise her at first.
The knicker factory lives on then and not been moved to China , is Sarah Gail’s daughter ( who I know has left now) and I was trying to place who Cassie was . It’s Claire Sweeney ! She hasn’t aged at all.

Not watching Corrie for 40 years then taking a look now will have shown some surprises 🥺😁

The houses have doubled in size magic!
Without doing an actual head count there are more gay residents than straight. It certainly seems that way 🙄 realistic? 🫤
Many residents have been married at least 4 times. hmm ok then but this isn't Hollywood (note to writers)
Toddlers are content to spend their days in their bedrooms or sitting at the dining table colouring in while disregarding instructions not to look at the camera man unhealthy and unrealistic (note to writers hang your heads in shame)
Newborns and most other babies and youngsters are not seen for months and appear to be almost permanently being babysat by anyone other than their parents lovely parenting by those who are sneaking off for an afternoon's shag with him/her next door while not giving the offspring a thought
Most adults have slept with most other adults ffs

I admit that I read my tv guide sometimes about Corrie, but the actual characters I’m hazy about who is who. I did see a Platt boy , Gail’s son I believe , who is a bit of a baddie ?
I’ve watched Eastenders since day one, so it sounds the same with disappearing children , many marriages and lots of unrealistic storylines.

She started off just helping out in the office then everyone said she was brilliant and could be an actual solicitor. Then she was poached by another firm and moved to Dublin, presumably with some sort on job training, but moved back again. Later on she quit as she did not like them defending accused sex offenders, now she is back with Adam - who really needs to sort his hair out

I think Carl looks like Jack, that would be a plot twist if he turned out to be his dad! 😀

The Platt boy is David, who’s one of the best characters. His sister is the eternally young very pretty Sarah. Sarah’s daughter is Bethany who is now in London, after having life changing plastic surgery that went horribly wrong.

I gave up on Eastenders, and don’t miss it at all. I know I should quit Corrie, but I can’t. Simple as that, it’s ingrained in my life in a way no other soap is.
@the80sweregreat , highly recommend watching Classic Corrie, two episodes on ITV 3 in the afternoons, it’s so good, and you’ll see a lot of current characters, David, Sarah, Maria, Carla, Tyrone, Steve, and a few icons like Rita, Audrey, Ken.

Poor teddy, I agree, he needs furapy.

I gave up on EastEnders as well nearly 8 years ago. Don't miss it either

I know it's been said before but Steve McDonald used to be a decent actor and his scripts were good and believable but now he's just a gurning buffoon. I watch Classic just occasionally but the difference is shocking and I do wonder how the actors feel. They MUST realise how ridiculous it mostly is these days but their contracts probably give them little choice but to read their lines and act like idiots.

Who'd be a soap star these days? 🙄
