You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. Grin And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!Smile

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

Sorry if I've missed anything!

He's a vile and sinister f*cker isn't he?! Hmm

And that's just for starters. 🤬

Todd deserves so much better.

TWILLOCK!!! 😂 Never heard that before, but I sure as hell will be using this word now! 😆

It’s my favourite word, I pinched it off Nicola Walker’s character Gillian in Last Tango in Halifax, she uses it beautifully.

TellingBone · 11/08/2025 20:27

I feel seasick 😕

TheodoraCrumpet · 11/08/2025 20:33

I was imagining all the vipers telling Todd to LTB. Quite right too.
What on earth is Lauren up to? She can't really think Aadi is on a par with Joel.

I feel seasick 😕

Yeah it was a bit weird with the camera work wasn’t it?

Strawberrysummer25 · 11/08/2025 20:40

Why is Theo rabbiting on about custody and cafcass, his kids are practically adults. Todd get rid of the manipulative Theo.

Empress13 · 11/08/2025 20:42

That woman police officer is getting on
my nerves it’s Craigy mark 2!

why are Carla and Lisa dressed for winter when it supposed to be height of summer

I fear it’s gonna get nasty for Todd

Middlemarch123 · 11/08/2025 20:44

Finally, feisty Todd, welcome back, we’ve missed you.

Because this summer in Manchester has been either sweltering or freezing. They must have filmed it on one of the cold days?

Middlemarch123 · 11/08/2025 20:47

Has Tracy’s florists tripled in size? It’s like a Tardis, tiny on the outside.

Middlemarch123 · 11/08/2025 20:48

Yay, go Todd, fill yer boots in town.

zanahoria · 11/08/2025 21:13

How come Gary is suddenly so understanding and touchy feely

He has not even had any friends since Quinny died

Tracy does own the shop and the flat, has to be worth more than the pokey cab office

zanahoria · 11/08/2025 21:17

and why would this ultra conservative church use a photo of Theo and Danielle plus kids in their flyers to promote family values ?

Everyone at the church would know they are not married, even if they didn't know she shagged Jason in Mary's bed.

NCTDN · 11/08/2025 21:46

How come the kitchen in swarlas new house is so fancy ? It wasn’t like that for yasmeen was it?

WiddlinDiddlin · 12/08/2025 05:22

I have to confess, I wasn't properly watching (I was playing Hay Day as I get points through an app and then get a £50 voucher for Sainsbo's)...

How did we go from Aadi and Amy finally getting it on, to Amy deciding Aadi is in fact evil.

Aadi thought Amy wasn't interested, it was going nowhere, so despite having had a thing for her for years and been incredibly patient, he accepted that and started looking elsewhere.

Something was potentialy brewing with Lauren, but like a dick instead of telling her she'd swiped a drink she shouldn't have straight away, he hid it.. feels awful, starts swerving Lauren, nothing really happens there and he realises I think that it can't as he's not told her the truth.

Amy makes it clear she is interested, as he is about to piss off to India, so they get it on...

And then he calls Lauren needy (I'd have called her a fucking vindictive bitch personally -yes, he should have been honest, but also, don't go drinking other peoples drinks at parties!)... and suddenly Amy is crying and hates him?!

HurdyGurdy19 · 12/08/2025 07:02

Carla & Co appear to have moved into the house very quickly. They must have a red hot conveyancer! And whatever happened to Swain's house/flat? She and Betsy moved in with Carla temporarily, as they'd had a leak/flood, and it's never been mentioned since.

I cant believe Dev can announce that Aadi is to be banished to India and expect Aadi to just go along with it. I hope that Aadi refuses to go, and ends up in an amazing job, and becomes spectacularly successful.

I suppose, though, that if the actor has decided to leave (please don't!) then going to India is as good an exit as any. But it would be more realistic if Aadi had made that decision himself.

I laughed at David being the street's bin monitor, and felt sorry for George when his date was more focused on reconnecting with an old school friend than getting to know him. But I suppose that's another push towards the suddenly coy and flirtatious Jenny.

Is Theo going to be Gary's next victim? I gave a little cheer when Todd finally stood up to him.

FeltCarrot · 12/08/2025 08:27

Accidentally posted on the old thread, got to agree with @HurdyGurdy19 that Carla moved very quickly in to Alya’s house. No waiting for surveys, nothing. No sign of Alya’s moving out and no mention of Swains house being sold either.

People just seem to forget they own properties. Cathy the hoarder had a house, George has a house. Todd talking about moving form Eileen’s house.

Because it’s Coronation Steet. A magical place, where you can move into a completely renovated house just days after you put in an offer on it.

Gary cannot kill Theo, he is the only friend he had made since Qinney died!

They are an odd couple - after all that sensitive male bonding, pouring their hearts out over a few pints, they decided the solution to the problem was to beat crap out of someone.

Anyone else spot the Cliff Richard CD in the Kabin?

Never any worries about chains or other issues etc

I feel seasick 😕

All the fancy camera angles, close ups and any other attempts at eligibility for an arthouse award in no way cover up the shite storylines and acting. And hair.

Not looking at anyone Theo in particular.

R0ckandHardPlace · 12/08/2025 15:15

suburburban · 12/08/2025 13:05

Never any worries about chains or other issues etc

Absolutely. And you’d think the fact that next door had a massive great sinkhole would have held up the searches somewhat.

NebulousSadTimes · 12/08/2025 15:55

R0ckandHardPlace · 12/08/2025 15:15

Absolutely. And you’d think the fact that next door had a massive great sinkhole would have held up the searches somewhat.

This is the sort of history that could add a bit of interest to storylines, with the chance to add a bit of enrichment to the characters, but they're making everything such fast paced 'drama' nowadays with ever decreasing plausibility and ever increasing tedium which equals fewer viewers.
