We're in the middle of the long hot Summer of 2025. CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. Grin And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!Smile

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

Sorry if I've missed anything!

Yes, what happened to him? One minute he was living happily with Daddy Tyrone whilst mum was recovering from an illness(?), and then he suddenly just disappeared.

Yeah he did just disappear didn't he?! (Doron...)

I was very irritated by Sam tonight. I hate his wispy, wimpy little voice, and think the actor who plays him is not very good. Banging on about global warming now, and how important it is to him blah blah blah WTF?! 🙄

Theo's mood changes with the weather. And he ramps up from calm to aggressive really quickly... I would run a mile if I was Todd.

SWARLA bore the shite out of me!

Feeling sorry for Kev a bit... He has just about lost Abi, and now he's lost Debs!

I find the whole precocious child thing a bit tedious and cliched, there literally is nothing clever about it.

Why do they think that kids like that are so endearing ?

EachandEveryone · 30/07/2025 21:40

Co-parenting with you brother. Isn’t that about weird? I thought Dee Dee was in a two bedroomed flat on her own? Why can’t the brother move into hers? How chaotic the lot of them in one house.

poor Todd at the end. I really wanted him to tell him to pack his bags.

Well of all the barmy storylines Corrie has had (and theres been loads) this is definitely the most ridiculous! How on earth can one co-parent with their brother sounds very incestuous . Is she supposed to call him daddy even though he’s her uncle ? Kid will be in therapy for sure

It is odd. I thought that! What a stupid storyline!

And as for what James said 'I'm not ready to be an uncle!' WTAF does that even mean? How can someone not be ready to be an uncle? Uncles don't really have to do much. What a stupid line. 🙄

I was really pissed off when James came back, thought we had got rid

It is quite realistic having Lily loathe Sam. Other children usually do hate kids who constantly try and impress adults. I hope they keep it going.

Deadringer · 30/07/2025 23:25

It seems that the writers have come up with another way for Sam to bore everyone to tears. Yippee 🙄

zanahoria · 30/07/2025 23:31

If Noah is seeing Danielle then why would he want Theo to become straight again? Surely that would mean Theo going back to Danielle.

Todd finally reminded Theo that he was a guest in his house.

why should he have to sleep downstairs.

where are George and Mary when all this nonsense is going on.

it there another bedroom downstairs as we never see front room in that house?

DaisyStarburst · 31/07/2025 08:07

I was yelling at Todd to tell Theo to get out and never come back.

zanahoria · 30/07/2025 23:31

I thought the same thing. Im not sure why Danielle is taking the moral high ground. She slept with Todd's brother and has now moved onto Noah.
I wish Todd would grow a pair and tell Theo to move out and change the locks.

carmak · 31/07/2025 10:36

To be fair, I thought Todd was out of order rushing in to tell Theo his latest news about Danielle. He should have waited.

Theo however is bad news, very unpleasant when it suits, Todd needs to chuck him out.

Poor George and Mary, they can't get much sleep, nothing but fighting or bonking going on. Does George still have that big house? Does Mary still have the motorhome? Is Eileen earning a fortune in rent? We need to know.

equally not sure why Theo and Todd were taking the moral high ground about her new relationship, she can see who she wants.

once again, all parties are a bit ridiculous

Deadringer · 31/07/2025 13:03

Eileen definitely had a bedroom downstairs at the front of the house, it was Sean's. Did George sell his house to give Glenda money, i can't remember? If not there is no logical reason why he would be living at his ex's house.

Gingercar · 31/07/2025 14:00

Yes that rings a bell that George might have given Glenda the house money. Did Mary’s camper get compounded?

I can’t say I’m looking forward to the indian aunt arriving. There will be drama. She’ll hate Bernie, take back the money. Aldi will tell her she’s a wonderful stepmum and all will be well.

carmak · 31/07/2025 14:23

So I've done a bit of digging, it appears that George gave Glenda the house, and she resides at 2 Conifer Avenue, Oakhill. Who knew? Well not me anyway.

So that's why he's still at Eileen's house.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 31/07/2025 15:18

Yes, George gave Glenda the house when their father’s will (old Mr Shuttleworth) was found - that he never filed - where he split everything between them. Glenda wanted half the business (she fell out with Micheal over her treatment of George and they split up). Eventually it was agreed that Glenda had the house and George had the undertakers. Although why Glenda hadn’t invited George to stay in that big house now he’s split from Eyelash, I don’t know! Maybe she’ll sell the house and buy The Rovers?

Mary’s campervan was towed away by the council after Todd complained about it being parked on the street. It was a new’ish van (didn’t she win it?) so why she’s never paid the fine and released it, no one knows!

Gingercar · 31/07/2025 15:41

yes she probably could have sold it for 50% of the price of a house on Corrie and got a lodger to pay the mortgage.

You’d think the funeral directors would have a flat above it for George.

I assumed Glenda lived in the Rovers.Does Jenny live there? Does George pay rent? Does anyone remember poor Julie? So many questions.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 31/07/2025 18:19

I think/thought Jenny moved back to Rita. Don’t think anyone can be living at the pub now? Which is odd as (a) its usually a requirement as part of the tenancy (Carla’s?) to have someone on site and (b) it would add to the number of bedrooms on the never ending move around on the street!

If DeeDee moves back into the family home to ‘co-parent’ with James, that’ll be 4 x adults + 2 x children there. And they definitely haven’t got a downstairs front room to use a bedroom. But, then her 2-bed flat will be up for grabs.

Hang on though, where are Adam & Aaliyah living?

Noah won’t be serious about Danielle. She’s a means to an end (to rile Todd and Theo).
It’s ridiculous that Todd rushed over to let Theo know about their relationship when he was mid-lunch with his kids. Theo may be an arsehole, but I don’t blame him for being pissed.

Love how Abi is ‘staying for the kids.’
A lack of options more like 🙄

Dede started off as a really cool character but she’s a bit annoying now.

Middlemarch123 · 31/07/2025 19:07

DeeDee’s vision of co parenting is her dumping little baby on her bro whenever she needs to work.
