Valentin is so like his mum!

CrushingOnRubies · 18/04/2025 17:58

Martin does have a habit of showing houses which don’t fit the brief or out of budget. A bit like the mystery house on New Life in the Country or whatever it’s called.

i feel like Alex was brought in by producers to put a cat amongst the pigeons and it didn’t really work .

Edited

Let’s hope it doesn’t work.

But he’s so conniving I feel he can’t be for real.

It did feel a bit like they were artificially creating drama.
But I love this programme - going to start at series one again.

I bloody love this show. I have a family that never does stuff together like they do and I love vicariously through it.
plus I love beautiful buildings. It’s the perfect combo. Alex’s plan doesn’t sound fun to me and they’re all doing pretty well out of it I’d say… so why add the stress? Especially if Valentin another kiddo, he’d miss all the good stuff being at work.

I play bingo for ‘le cerise sur le gateau’ and ‘profite’ which means enjoy. I’m awed by how much joy and enjoying life are emebedded in the values of this family. Very inspiring for my own family - I learn a lot.

So glad there's this thread - I love this programme too. The seem to have the perfect life - working in a family where everyone gets on (mainly). I too am struck by the immense wealth of some of the customers - many in their 30s with multiple kids and able to buy vast homes. It's a programme to watch for pure escapism but also one that can make you feel quite crap about your own life!

I love it too. They are warm and charismatic. But still some tensions and sadnesses; I suppose that’s the other way of looking at it.

Also I agree there are some amazing properties but I also sometimes think: “lmagine spending x and only ending up with y.”

Valentin looks sooo like his mum, Martin like his dad and the other boys such a mix.

I think the youngest might be the dark horse of real estate!

I absolutely love this (recently discovered) programme and am trying hard not to binge. It has boosted my French so much. My bingo includes: Hallucinant, luminosité, époustouflant, cerise sur le gâteau, Valentin’s « let’s go » and cozy!

Love this! I'm French and it hadn't occurred to me when I posted that the program wasn't in English - doh!

That bingo is pretty accurate. Valentin says hallucinant in pretty much every sentence! He's my favourite!

And “dingue”!

Bimblesalong · 23/05/2025 13:17

I’m reasonably fluent in French and love it to boost my language skills. I have an irrational dislike of « cerise sur le gâteau »

So do I! And it gets a lot of use!

I'm late to this show, i'm only on season 2. But I'm really enjoying it. I love Paris and I love seeing all the homes. They are so beautiful.
I find their French really hard to understand. I don't know why. But I persevere so I can look at all the beautiful houses and clothes.

Do we think all the buyers are real?

I don't think all of them are. Some (french) celebrities and some of the friends of the family seem to come up with fairly half hearted scenarios

But I love it!

Blueberrycake12 · 01/06/2025 09:41

If Valentin says 'ULTRA' one more time. Arrgggghhh

User505351 · 01/06/2025 09:51

I think lots of the buyers are not real. There's lots of chat on Reddit about it. But I don't care, it's still a beautiful show to watch.

Im going to Paris next month. I wonder if I'll see any of their signs up advertising properties for sale? I don't actually know what their agency is called though. Is it called Kretz like their family name?

I agree it almost doesn’t matter if the buyers are real or not because the properties themselves clearly are.
