This is why I record it (And Big Brother) and watch it the next day - or start watching it 20-30 minutes in.
I can't put into words how much the constant, lengthy ad breaks stress me out. Sounds dramtatic, but they ruin a show for me. I find the ad breaks mind numbing, tedious, and irritating. I never used to, it's the length of them these days, and the frequency. Some shows (that have an hour long slot,) have 6 minutes of the show, then a 7 minute ad break, then 8 minutes of show, then a 6 minute ad break and so on. Like a full one third of a one hour show is adverts. (Sometimes more!) It's bonkers!
Thankfully, with the advent of ad breaks, we got TV recorder boxes. There's such a lot I couldn't/wouldn't watch if I didn't have the ability to record it and watch it later minus the ad breaks. Love Island, MAFS, Britain's Got Talent, Big Brother etc. And I would even struggle with Classic Corrie, and the Channel 4 and Channel 5 films and documentaries.
Fortunately, I have recently signed up to ITVX premium, so am able to watch ITV stuff with no ad breaks now. With other channels with ads (which is most channels!) I have to record the shows and watch them later - or as I said, start watching it 20-30 minutes in. (And I skim through the ad breaks...)
