Anyone watching?

I assume Isabel didn't recover from the complications after surgery 😞

I've not started this series yet. It always amazes me.

Totally amazed that can make a new aorta. This programme blows my mind

Bloody hell I am in bits at Joan and her husband. So glad it all went well for her.

But so terribly sad about Isabel

We love this programme. I am in awe at what these doctors can do!

So strange just seeing that whole breast tissue come out!

Love this program and following the patients journeys. I always find myself rooting for them to get through it all and have a good outcome after the massive complicated operations they have. Felt so sad that Isobel didn't make it.

(does anyone else wonder how all the people in the operating theatre can go 12 hours doing an op? Do they eat/drink or go to the loo inbetween?)

The stress on these surgeons must be immense. I wonder what the impact on their own bodies must be. I do know some wear incontinence type pants . I am so impressed by these surgeons. Years ago I shared at uni with someone who is now a leading oncology surgeon and she was always dedicated. She was the one who spent the most hours studying, the most conscientious. I cannot help but marvel at the progress made in the medical field. Eg The blood loss recycled into the patient. 30 years ago there was nothing they could do for my father with cancer yet they do vastly more complex things now.

Isabel had to have dialysis after her surgery then developed sepsis.

I’ve worked as a scrub nurse with surgeons. They are a completely different sort of human being, to anyone else I’ve ever met. They are super intelligent, super dexterous, and their stamina is unbelievable. During a long operation, the support staff get breaks and a new shift will come in and take over. The surgeons are there for the duration.

What amazes me are all the advanced techniques and machinery involved yet at times it comes down to something basic like plugging a hole with your finger! The stitches always look like when you were learning blanket stitch at school and you think " how the heck do they stop the leaks ? " . They never look up to the job.

Bloody hell

A recurring tumour growing deep into her brain 😳
