New thread for the week as old one is almost full

HELLO BRUV

A fab duff duff

Tho why do Grant and Jay think all is fine with Phil. It's obvious he isn't well bless him

Amazing acting By Steve M !!

Many say someone will die this week - I'm saying either Ruby or Reiss

Ruby as Martin needs to be with Stacey and Ruby means 40 !!!

Reiss as fed up with him. It's either jail or death 😂

Stacey and Martin need to get back together. They obviously love each other

Do we really care who hit Cindy over the head - I'm saying Peter

Bianca finally managed to escape. I wish we had a flashback how she managed to get the bag - use the tools in it - escape and get back to the square - all in time to hit reiss with a teapot

If people locked their back doors life would be better for all in the square 😂

Billy and Honey married - do we really care 😂

Linda is sober. Yah !!!

Tommy seems to be ok now living with Zack

Tomorrow is the hour special and a thur the live episode we get every 5yrs or so

How many cock ups will with we have - Must be hard to do live episodes

Been lovely watching the old duff on bbc 4 this week and all the old cast popping in for cameos

Honestly do some of you guys not watch the show??? So many silly posts 🙄

mybelovedghostandme · 21/02/2025 03:25

@augustusglupe that's what I'm thinking , she fancied Ravi off the scale lots of.. I don't blame her lol
I think Stacey will tell Ruby something along the lines of that Martin loved her , bla bla , I don't think she will be honest . She said to Martin she didn't want to hurt Ruby either when they were planning on being together.
I do hope she tells her mum or Kat or eve though so she has someone to grieve properly with

MrsLargeEmbodied · 21/02/2025 04:34

in the very first episode Arthur fowler was also having a drink of the man's whiskey! like bianca having a drink of the brandy Grin

ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself · 21/02/2025 04:49

Another vote for Ravi here. Somehow I’ve never been convinced by Jack and Denise.

JMSA · 20/02/2025 23:05

Aww, poor Martin Sad I'll be really sad to see him go. He was a thoroughly decent chap, even if his treatment of Ruby wasn't great.

I had absolutely no idea about the toxic crush thing. You learn something new everyday. I thought the worst case scenario would be paralysis of both legs Blush

Same here!

Disappointed that Denise didn't choose Ravi. Can't believe that majority chose Jack. Id like to know the result of the public vote.

Me too!

frenchnoodle · 21/02/2025 05:38

Twonewcats · 20/02/2025 23:39

Honestly, why are many people questioning thr public vote? As if they'd risk ANY controversy/doubt over the legitimacy of the vote

To be fair, the BBC have rigged voting before, so that is why. The one that springs to mind is blue Peter's name a cat competition.

I don't think they have this time.

gingercat02 · 21/02/2025 07:31

2old4thisshit · 20/02/2025 21:16

I voted the same, totally gutted that Denise has not gone with Ravi. Plus I chose Toni, Toni Jackson is much better than Julia Jackson.

The baby is likely to be Julia Fowler, Sonia and Bex are Fowlers and now Martin is gone, so keep the faaaaamily name going (I know the baby isn't his) They also discussed the surname a few days ago.

I think Julia Jackson sounds good.

like you say, they’ll probably do fowler

Was just saying this means nobody born in Walford has a belly button!

I definitely saw the cord.
Was impressed that this detail was attended to.
Going to rewatch now because I'm doubting my memory.

Havingaswimmoose · 21/02/2025 08:43

MrsLargeEmbodied · 20/02/2025 20:22

i was sure i saw the umbilical cord
i thought she would at least turn the baby upside down or suck its nose

very sad that martin died, he is young, he should have survived

Yes, I saw a cord too.
Also had the same thoughts about upside down /sucking for the baby.
Also don't they tap the soles of the baby's feet for a response?

Or no legs

Oh come on! That was years ago, and they got in trouble for it.
They do phone votes regularly and all is above board, they're hardly going to rig the biggest one they've done for years

Well if they had to use the public's money pay a fine to Ofcom, then I'm sure they'd never do it again, what with them having to fund it out of our pockets.

No I don't think it was rigged, but I can absolutely see why people think it is, because it has been before.

scanni · 21/02/2025 10:32

What they did with Linda, Phil and Nigel should have taken place before the explosion, it was such a good piece of work but the fact that Linda didn't react to the explosion undermined the whole thing really. Bad decision to have them ongoing at the same time

Agree
Very poor choice by L to put a friend before her children.
Or may be it shows her choices and boundaries are still.poor?

the80sweregreat · 21/02/2025 10:51

Linda did look up at the Vic once and maybe the memories of Mick and all the bad stuff that's gone on there , she just thought ' oh well, it's not meant to be my home anymore ' or something like that.
She knew the children were safe and they have been without her for months already , so a few hours helping Phil was her priority at that time
It was only a few hours between each scene and all in one day , so she wasn't gone that long. Not what most people would have done I
Suppose , but she did help to save a life and it was all so well done.

TheodoraCrumpet · 21/02/2025 11:13

So the fathers of both Sonia's children died in the same incident. What are the odds. I liked the bathtub being the cause of death for Reiss, given the likely scenario leading to Debbie's demise.

JimothyHalpert · 21/02/2025 11:22

I was glued all the way through the live ep waiting for a mistake! So was very happy to see Martin forget a line and Stacey had to say it for him Grin
I had the subtitles on.

Martin looked a bit blank then Stacey said something like "so do I have to get angry at our wedding then?" And he said "I guess so"
But the subtitles were:
(Martin) "I guess you'll have to get angry at our wedding then"

(My wording might not be exact, but close enough!)

I thought the whole thing was great entertainment, doesn't matter to me if it's a bit naff or unrealistic, I just love it!

scanni · 21/02/2025 11:24

I also don't think Sonia would ever have called her child Toni, given they was the make of Bianca's ex who abused Whitney

the80sweregreat · 21/02/2025 11:26

Julia is better off without her dad around tbh. What a monster he turned out to be :(
I suppose that all James Bye had to do was keep taking in the oxygen if he had seized up a lot on his lines!
It was Stacey who had to be word perfect and she did it well.
The medic seemed at a big of a loss at one stage, but overall any glitches were small ones and they didn't look too nervous really.

thisoldcity · 21/02/2025 12:28

I thought last night's episode was excellent and they should definitely get some awards for it. Seeing people acting live and close up like that is very impressive and shows what brilliant actors they are. The 'core' team of older ones held it all together - Phil, Linda, Nigel, Denise, Sonia, Bianca, Stacey and Martin - all so impressive. Nigel's little speech about how much he needed Phil was a real standout for me, really emotional, and the whole thing with Martin dying in agony while Sonia was giving birth was very ambitious but really well done and totally gripping.

I had to cover my eyes at one point as I couldn't bear to see Martin any more, while the emergency services just seemed to faff around. I kept thinking surely all those men could just lift that beam together if they tried hard enough. I know that's not how it works and they can't go doing that, but honestly the faffing drove me mad.

the80sweregreat · 21/02/2025 12:32

Why did they faff about so much to do the air bag thing ? Surely it would be much quicker in real life.

There seemed to be no sense of urgency at all! I know that was to get all the romantic chat in with Martin and Stace, but it seemed to take forever.

the80sweregreat · 21/02/2025 12:43

Stacey keeping on at Martin was also annoying on Wednesday
Why Mart didn't say' stop it until we are out of here' I've no idea really.
The others ( apart from Reiss) got out ok
