££££s being a motivator to keep a roof over said child's head is probably a good motivator for a lot of mums!

Her child is over a year old, she hasn't left a newborn to go off and do this.

So is Colleen just as bad leaving her 4 kids ?

No it isn't

It's a few weeks work for a lot of money and means they can prob turn down other work and be around for their kids

I said before I couldn't leave dd for that long - that's just me - but doesn't mean she /they are bad parents to go and earn money for their family

I would have struggled to leave my dd's at 1. But I don't believe it is any different to dads leaving. Needs must and securing a family's financial future when such an opportunity arises is eminently sensible in my book.

I'll need a few more episodes to remember them all, but so far I like Alan, Colleen and Jane. I agree Colleen seems guarded but I imagine 2 decades of tabloid scrutiny will do that.

I've got it. An 'influencer' of whom I've never heard, Maura Higgins, and the Rev Richard Coles whom I quite like. It will be good therapy for him, his partner died a while ago and he likes being with people, is kindly too.

I have to say I was a bit bored with it last night and didn't watch it all. It's so predictable.

I read an interview a while back with Oti where she basically said black South African women were much more pragmatic about working around small kids and babies because they had no choice, western women (to an extent) had the luxury of being more sentimental. She may appear wildly successful but she's in showbiz, it's precarious - and so is her husband so she needs to grab chances where she gets them. I'd happily have left my children WITH THEIR DAD at a year old for three weeks if it brought us enough cash I didn't have to work for a year afterwards - it's nothing in the scheme of things

@LBFseBrom Richard Cole’s has a new partner now, an actor named Dickie something. His husband, David, died in 2019.

I totally agree with showbiz freelancers having to earn when they can. I imagine Oti’s husband will be there, probably with their little one, for as soon as evictions start, so they can be reunited asap.

I think it was me who originally mentioned Oti going in but genuinely thought she had only recently had her baby within the last few months and that it was very soon after giving birth.
Fair play of she is going in and I have read her reasoning why.
I hope she does well, I like her.

Who is GK? Never heard of her

I’d never heard of GK until last night. I gather her name is Grace. Why does she go by GK? I could understand if her name is Gertrude or something, but Grace is a perfectly nice name?
