Taylor laughed at Laura's suggestion that Alex would have thought what's the point of trying to win the match after the second set. It all seems daft to me but I'm sure Ice is loving the maths

I don't remember the such a focus on scenarios and games won etc in previous years. Maybe matches were more straightforward (i.e Djok just beat everyone).

All I know is that it always confuses me

Alex could still have qualified if he’d won today in straight sets because there was potential for a 3-way tie between him, Taylor and Daniil on 1-2. Both Taylor and Daniil have one straight sets win at the moment.

Daniil now needs to beat Sinner in straight sets to qualify at all, but if he does that he will also qualify first in the group with Sinner second. If he wins in 3 he would be tied with Taylor, who would qualify ahead of him due to the H2H result.

I wonder if every tournament was like this whether I would have gotten so into tennis 🤔

I don't think I would follow tennis so much Jane if all tournaments were round robins - I much prefer it when whoever wins a match goes through to the next round - especially when complex maths is involved!

This tie break is going on so long.

I thought the Tache Twins were going to take the set easily earlier.
