I just don't get Sacha. She is always showing off the goods and saying they love each other so why aren't they having sex with each other? She's another Peggy

... because she doesn't have to.

CheeseWisely · 22/10/2024 07:46

@FriendofDorothy @SweetGenie And actually I get the impression that they might be, but they've refused to talk about it in the public domain, from the way the ixperts phrased their questions.

I think I recall another couple being like that back in the mists of time. Just point blanked refused to discuss intimacy and thus weren't asked about it.

I ask this every single series. What is the point of the so-called ixperts? Sitting there in their evening wear and costume jewellery, pretending not to know what's going on and turning a blind eye to vile, damaging behaviour. Where exactly have they given any useful advice and guidance? Why haven't they given any feedback to individuals behaving in harmful ways (Richelle should really have been stopped and thrown out. She shouldn't have been given the platform to continually name-call Orson.)
I want an ixperiment where the couples are helped and guided by proper relationship experts- to show the couples- and the viewers- how to see what's going on in relationships, how to develop and grow, or when to call it a day, and to show us how to do it all with integrity and emotional intelligence.
The ixperts looked redundant and ridiculous last night.

PS Free Shitlid.

wizzler · 22/10/2024 08:31

Have to say I never thought when I watched the first few episodes that Nafe would be my favourite . Thought he handled the ixperts very well last night.

I was fondish of Luke before he rocked up in his jim-jams last night

Emma seems maniacal, Casper looks hunted and everyone else behaves like they are 6 years old

I know it's scripted but it's almost cartoonish.. cross face, jealous face, smitten face, smug face, shocked face

I thought that too. They definitely phrased it in a way which suggested that the couple had said that it wasn't something for public consumption.

I still like Gaston 😆
even tho he was upset at the cock-blocking from Hannah and his “wife” not saying he was the best looking he didn’t get all shouty, he was still articulate and respectful, just honest. Not sure I fancy him at all, but I do find him likeable!

Emma seems more and more like a character from Miranda as the series goes on. She's so awkward 😆. She would have been ideal with the posh bloke who was paired with Roz last series.

Doubleraspberry · 22/10/2024 10:15

TL:DR thoughts.

Emma: I like her and wish she would leave and find someone right for her.

Caspar: see above.

Lacey: Dullish attention seeker but seems quite OK to be in a MAFS relationship with without her mother around.

Mr Lacey (forgotten his name): Sweet, and refreshingly unaggressive. He can stay.

Polly: Both DH and I were shouting ‘go’ at her last night. Unpleasant viewing, and Paul’s only actual piece of useful advice last night is not to hang in on a relationship in the hopes that someone will change (although he could have applied this far more widely I felt).

Adam: Better than Polly but it’s no zero sum game. He also just needs to leave please.

Holly: Vulnerable but also highly irritating. Wouldn’t trust her in a Yates with a WKD. I want her out of this for her own sake and I can only hope this is all for the cameras and she would never let Alex anywhere near her children.

Alex: A Women’s Aid instructional video. Why is he not being challenged on his behaviour by the experts? Why are they not removing them when Holly says he intimidates her?

Kristina: Sweet and I feel for her.

Keiran: Bits of me like him but he is too in with the problematic men for comfort. He stokes things.

Amy: Can’t get much of a sense of her but she was kind to Hannah. I’m surprised she’s not getting more crap from the Ollies.

Luke: Feathery stroker. I couldn’t. Also though refreshingly un-red flaggy in general.

Ryan: Scares me a bit, pent up stuff there. And he seems to be scaring Shannon.

Shannon: Is fading away on screen. If I were a friend of hers I’d be concerned.

Stephen: Just appalling as a human. In every way. The experts should have kicked him all the way to the Thames.

Hannah: Gym bunny who reads rooms wrong. She is definitely a LOT but I felt very sorry for her. I will feel less sorry for her if she reappears with Orson.

Orson: totally mystified at what we haven’t seen. Is Richelle being edited to make her look even worse or was there at least some rationale for anything she’s saying?

Richelle: Fuck me, hard work and nasty. And should have been removed.

Totally not the focus of tonight's drama but...

Why did the ixpert Paul say to Polpot that 'potential' is non starter. 'If you are looking for potential in a partner, you might as well go home now'

Surely that is the whole basis of the show.

Especially when Mel went on to say to K&K that their relationship has real potential Confused

Polpot is hoping that Shitlid will change and could potentially be what she wants.

Paul rightly pointed out that if you're looking for what someone potentially could be, rather than what he is, then the relationship is doomed.

Whereas with K&K, their relationship is progressing well and has the potential to blossom into a deep and meaningful.

So Paul is talking about a person and Mel is talking about a relationship.

MyrtleStrumpet · 22/10/2024 10:29

I read somewhere that the CC takes all day and each couple gets a lot more time on the sofa than we see. After all they're editing 8+ hours into 75 minutes.

It's possible the ixperts do raise some of the issues but it wouldn't make good TV, so it doesn't make the edit.

JRorBobby · 22/10/2024 10:39

I had the exact same thought!

I do love the experts though. Mel in particular.

purplespink · 22/10/2024 10:42

I missed why everyone calls Polly Polpot. Is it a Paul Pott's thing?

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 22/10/2024 10:43

@Doubleraspberry spot on all round

Holly - Wouldn’t trust her in a Yates with a WKD

I did laugh 😆

dapsnotplimsolls · 22/10/2024 11:25

I think the Ollies aren't targeting Amy because she'd fight back and her husband is bigger than theirs!

murasaki · 22/10/2024 11:28

Amy's expressed no interest in their husbands, and Luke isn't a lid, so they're not interested in him, hence she's no threat.

dapsnotplimsolls · 22/10/2024 11:34

Now Stephen's gone, I wonder who Ryan will have beef with. Hopefully not Shannon.

Doubleraspberry · 22/10/2024 12:55

I guess bullies always know who not to take on and Amy has good support and self esteem so that puts her off their radar straight away.

Why are you all saying Ryan is aggressive?

Awfeckoff · 22/10/2024 14:30

Why are you all saying Ryan is aggressive?

I didn't see it at first but others have mentioned it. I think there's a lot bubbling under the surface.

SilentSheldon · 22/10/2024 14:41

Spotted him brewing a long time ago.

And Sasha can wear what she likes while simultaneously keeping her hand on her tuppence.

Not that I do, but I could flap my tatas about twenty ways till Sunday and it does not make me obliged to service anyone.

More so a pretend husband I’ve known less than a month.

Fuck. That. Shit.

SilentSheldon · 22/10/2024 14:44

And indeed.

Awfeckoff · 22/10/2024 14:47

Thank you. Quite agree with the Sacha choices. But I still got the hots for Ryan so maybe I need help from the Ixperts. 😂
