Just loved this. Easy to watch and made me smile lots. Adam Brody was brilliantly cast. Anyone else watched yet?

Because he wants to be senior rabbi but is saying that being Jewish and raising a Jewish family is optional. There are so few Jews in the world and they don’t seek conversion so Jewish people not perpetuating the religion is a real source of worry.

None of that makes it ok to be so prejudiced. I don’t think this show makes the Jewish community look very nice at all, surely the opposite of what the writers intend.

Ooh always looking for new things to watch on Netflix so will give it a go thank you. Currently watching Asbentia which is a really good psychological thriller

Some people are religious and follow the prescribed religious practices. They are allowed to do this. Some religions believe it’s important to marry within their religion. We might not like it but that’s freedom of religion! Different people want to live their lives differently. I choose not to be religious because I don’t want these kind of restrictions in my life.

I loved the first series but have found the second series annoying and irritating. All the talk about her converting to Judaism seems to be based on 'family feeling' or something similar - no mention of God! I’m an atheist but I would have thought belief in the actual religious part was fairly crucial…

Plus I found the plotline about his brother and sister-in-law highly contrived and unconvincing.

I still love Adam Brady, though he keeps doing that same pained expression, but I don’t find Kristen Bell's character at all sympathetic - love her 'sister' Morgan though!

The show is not a direct autobiographical account, but it draws heavily from the real experiences, particularly concerning their religious differences, of the author I think her name is Erin Foster, she converted to Judaism after meeting her husband.

I like the fact it is built around a true story.

It's perfectly normal for a religious leader to have a spouse who is the same religion. Especially, Jews. So, I don't find it at all unusual that this would affect the rabbis job situation.
