So sadly we lost Paul, the air has been chilly.
Bernie had a rave, and Summer is comforting Billy.
Todd is a dude, and David's quite a lark.
It'll be Christmas by the next thread, and really quite dark.

Cassie is a sly one, she's taking Ken in.
I wish the naughty scouser would get in the bin.
Gail and Audrey don't have much going on at the mo.
And Stu and Yasmeen are always on the go.

Poor Bethany was slim but she got liposuction.
The fallout from the procedure has caused quite a ruction.
She owes so many thousands, you just wouldn't believe.
The clinic have her passport so she simply can't leave.

Damon's creeped out of the woodwork for a minute.
It's none of his business but he's poked his nose in it.
Offering Sarah dodgy cash he's got hidden away.
Sarah may have to take it. It may be the only way.

The pub is fairly quiet, and not much going on there
Daisy, Jenny, and Glenda all have fab hair!
Daniel is fussing around Bethany all the time
And people blame him for Bethany, like he's committed a crime.

Fizz is very pregnant, but may not keep the baby.
Tyrone really wants to, and says 'can we, maybe?'
Hope and Ruby fancy a new sister or brother.
But we know who'll be looking after it, Yep, the mother!

Carla and Lisa are vibing quite nice.
You can see their reactions when they look in each others eyes.
Mason's trying to go straight, but is he for real?
Or will he go back to his old ways, and bully and steal?

Kit has been fairly quiet, and the quads have been too!
What's the point of the quads, what do they even do?
Can't think of much else going on right now.
And can't get this last bit to rhyme. Grin

I thought it was a visiting order.

I thought it was a visiting order.

Yes I thought I saw that. Just not who it was for. And now the phone call.

MoonWoman69 · 08/11/2024 23:24

I wasn't even bothered that I couldn't hear half of what Billy was prattling on about!

I bet it was a visiting order so David can go to the prison and Shonas son can beg him and Shona to put him up on his release!

I don't think Mason would be such bad news if it wasn't for his awful brother. He's so scared of him. I'm hoping he sees the error of his ways sooner rather than later. Poor Tim, trying to do the right thing.

And as if Carla is going to want Gails blackout lined curtains! 🤣

So Dee Dee twatted Joel over the head with the crow bar, but that doesn't solve how he got in the river! Doubt she'll go to prison if she admits what she did though, she'll be done for assault. And barred from practising as a lawyer. Maybe she'll leave and go join her mother, wherever she buggered off to!
Father Bailey needs to do one too, that mans acting is appalling!

And the last scene was absolutely ridiculous, even by Coronation Street standards of late!
That's my episode round up! 🤣

Freysimo · 09/11/2024 07:51

Billy recovered well from his hypothermia episode. So well, he went and stood in the pouring rain 🙄. Also, wouldn't he have been more comfortable in bed rather than sleeping on cramped sofa?

Clawdy · 09/11/2024 08:00

Never thought I'd feel sorry for Mason, but those horrible brothers!

AmusedMaker · 09/11/2024 08:19

*MoonWoman69
great roundup! 😄
Dad Bailey really is terrible, his scenes are like an episode from Acorn Antiques, ( but he really can’t act, he’s not putting it in ) no wonder Mum Bailey disappeared.
And that last scene with Billy and Bernie was just silly. I’m sure they wanted it to be really moving and emotional, but it just wasn’t. You could almost see the fake rain coming out of the hoses.

AmusedMaker · 09/11/2024 08:21

Has Tim got a son somewhere?
I’m sure he mentioned a son in last nights episode?

I think they wanted to do a togetherness scene, otherwise Bernie and Billy would be sniping at each other forever.

Glad that's done, now Billy and Todd can get together 😂
Sally has had the best lines this week, am quite liking Tim and Mason also
imho most bullies are bullied themselves so the brothers thing is realistic.
I hope he turns out OK as I was quite cross at what they did with Jacob

When Mason was out with his brothers who looked nothing like him it looked like Broad daylight

Did they know Sally and Tim were out having breakfast

helgel · 09/11/2024 09:15

@suburburban I've never seen 3 brothers look less alike, very funny!

Acorn Antiques! 😂 I agree, Mr Bailey is dreadful. That bloody booming voice!!!!! 😖

Agree with you that @MoonWoman69's round up was spot on! 😆

I actually thought the scene between Bernie and Billy was sweet. Genuinely brought tears to my eyes. 😢 Glad they've stopped their bickering now too.

And a very fitting goodbye for a man called Apollo, being sent up into space!

£4000 though to do that! Shock I think when my DH dies I will get his ashes and attach them to a helium balloon from The Card Factory! 😆

Knowing my luck, he will end up in the canal, or even worse, on top of someone's skip! 😬

I was really moved by the Billy and Bernie scene, both grieving in their different ways and finally finding a way to come together in it. I did think we might be getting rid of Billy when Paul appeared though.

BirthdayRainbow · 09/11/2024 14:19

AmusedMaker · 09/11/2024 08:21

Has Tim got a son somewhere?
I’m sure he mentioned a son in last nights episode?

He has a daughter.

Shellingbynight · 09/11/2024 17:00

Tim just has Mardy Faye, no son that we know of.

For some reason I loved seeing Paul again, although it did mean suffering Billy drowning in a well of self pity.

Joel was probably twatted by more than one person then staggered around and fell in the river, I don't care!

David deleted a visiting order, which I guess was meant for Shona.

WiddlinDiddlin · 09/11/2024 17:15

Yeah, Davids meddling with Shona visiting Clayton, which is a story we've visited before, as it was Clayton who murdered Kylie.

I thought the Paul and Billy scenes when he was getting hypothermic were good, from Peter Ash anyway.. the Billy bits were fucking awful!

Best line of the week though is another David Platt beauty. When Gail is wanging on about curtains and he said something like 'Yes Gail, nodding and smiling'. Someone (with more time than me) should do a compilation reel of his best lines!

WiddlinDiddlin · 09/11/2024 17:20

Roryno · 06/11/2024 22:22

Wow £4k. I wonder how Bernie funded that when chesney is our working every hour to feed the quads?

Id love to do that with my dad’s ashes. He loved astrology and traveled all over the world when alive. But he’s haunt me for spending that!

Dev paid for it, I'm pretty sure. Dev who is the most successful business man the worlds ever seen, can splash out all over the place some days and yet is stoney broke and brassic other days. His accounts are a mystery to all.

Newnametoday5 · 09/11/2024 17:47

Isn't Dev supposed to own a string of corner shops? It's not mentioned these days but used to be. His mumbling garbled way of talking often has me rewinding to listen again but I still can't understand him. 🫤

Shellingbynight · 09/11/2024 18:57

Yes Dev paid. For more or less everything.

He used to be 7 shops Dev, but he sold most of them long ago. He now just has the corner shop and the kebab shop.

Deadringer · 09/11/2024 21:29

Could Billy have died of hypothermia in Manchester in november? I am not from the UK but i wouldn't have thought it would be cold enough.

Roryno · 09/11/2024 22:33

It’s been pretty mild up here this year. Hasn’t even rained much for the last few weeks (unlike summer!).

69pbiryani · 09/11/2024 23:35

So did Kit go to Hoel and help him escape? Or did he finish him off?

WiddlinDiddlin · 10/11/2024 03:05

I think Dev also owns the chippy..

Nooooo I think Kit went to see what state Joel was in because he realised Joel may well have figured out that he'd planted evidence (Which he had) and is a loose thread that needs to be tidied up. Having seen Kit get rid of Beth, we can see that he's not keen on loose threads..

It doesn't need to be that cold to die of hypothermia, but you do need your temperature regulation to be 'off' for some reason... very unwell, very drunk, wet etc, exhausted!

I read a really horrible case study when my Dad was a safety officer for a sports club, of kids dying of hypothermia because untrained guides (scout leaders, teachers) didn't realise the risks of exhausted kids getting a bit wet in 'not very cold' weather... There have been several cases over the years in this particular sport.

However, it IS still pretty unlikely in a fit healthy adult... yeah.

Shellingbynight · 10/11/2024 08:08

I thought the chippy and the kebab shop were one and the same? The one Ches works in.

NCTDN · 10/11/2024 10:44

Is this the new coordinated look? Top and wallpaper matching?
