One road, countless victims and a predator unpunished for 30 years. The searing, powerful story of France's most notorious serial rapist - and a justice system blind to his crimes.

2 episodes tonight and (I think) all available on line.

Having just watched the Clarement Murders I wonder how this French retelling of true live events will compare.

I wonder how many other countries have stories like this. Women disappearing presumed dead, and crimes not solved. There was a really sobering one set in Canada that I remember.

Sounds awful.
I thought that Enzo singing along to music of the time on his way to rape an early victim in the first episode and a late victim in the last episode was quite good at emphasising just how long it went on for.
I thought the arrest scene was well done. Very suspenseful

I’m up to the Scientist episode and realised she is Clémence Poésy, who played Fleur Delacour in the Harry Potter films. The acting and scripts are excellent, but I just finished watching The Teacher, so most programmes will be superior.

The attitude of the police was appalling, like the way most of the women were treated in The Long Shadow. I hope that attitudes are continuing to improve for victims of sexual crimes.

(Re Reading Police 1982 appalling treatment of a woman who came in saying she had been raped.)

Yes, that’s true, and changes started to be made by the police after that.
