I did do a search to see if I could find a thread on this, so apologies if there is one already started - someone point me there!

I am loving it so much. Young men need more experiences and role models like this. So good. Anyone else watching?

I'm loving it too, what a lovely thing for Freddie to do, particularly continuing it after his awful accident.

Frustrating at times - the lateness would drive me mad. But lovely to see them developing, what an experience for them.

Pearl97 · 28/08/2024 15:24

What a joy to watch. People helping each other. More of this please!

ssd · 28/08/2024 15:32

Such a lovely programme

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 28/08/2024 15:57

I love this. The first series had me hooked.

Haven't seen last night's yet but I love what Freddie is doing and I love how supportive the lads are to Freddie after his accident (probably what Freddie needed).

It's a real gem amongst the trashy reality tv that we have.

Obeseandashamed · 28/08/2024 16:18

I absolutely loved the first series and really enjoying the second too. It's nice to see positive community building and really heartwarming seeing how the kids have developed personally and professionally over the series.

GingerRuby · 28/08/2024 16:19

I really love this too, to give these lads this opportunity and Freddie is so good with them.

Last night, Sean being the captain, was utterly fantastic, thinking back to how Sean was back at the start of Series 1, he is transformed. Freddie is such a role model and you could see how proud he was of Sean.

Brilliant programme, restores your faith in human nature

Hihosilver123 · 29/08/2024 08:58

Absolutely brilliant programme. Moving, funny, inspirational. I thought the scene in the barbers shop was hilarious! The lads choosing suits was also brilliant. Wonderful.

I watched the last one of this series last night. How wonderful that the boys have come away with such changed views after this.

It is great to see something positive on TV. Fred is truly inspirational. This programme confirms that giving individuals time and self belief pays dividends.

2024intake · 04/09/2024 05:49

We have loved this. It’s brilliant. The boys have helped Freddie almost as much as he’s helped them. It just shows what a difference a positive person can make in the lives of a young person to help them believe in themselves.

Freddie seems such a thoroughly decent man, he’s been through a lot himself with his eating disorder and the media pressure in the past, and then his horrific accident.

The way those boys supported each other, looking out for Josh when he struggled with his autism and Adnam with his fasting and showing respect for each other’s different beliefs when they may well have not had that type of outlook before. They said it changed the way they viewed the people of India when they’d had preconceived ideas before they went.

Everyone needs a Freddie in their lives!

Everyone needs a Freddie in their lives!

I want a Freddie in my life, and a Kyle. Two exceptional men.

Yes Kyle is also excellent. I couldn’t remember his name when I was writing my post and didn’t want to Google or I would have lost my post and had to start again!

I loved this series, but I felt so sorry for the boys who didn’t get a visa. I felt they were kind of left out at the end too when Freddie was giving out the hats.

2024intake · 04/09/2024 08:14

Ah that explains why I didn’t recognise a couple of them! That’s very sad.

MargoLivebetter · 04/09/2024 08:34

I really hope he does manage to roll out some kind of national program because that was fantastic. We definitely need more of this stuff. Hats off to Freddie Flintoff for giving it a go, specially after what happened to him.

But they did get a hat, one of them was stood holding his at the end (just before Freddie did his bit about taking the scheme elsewhere,).

iusedtobecool · 04/09/2024 10:44

I didn’t notice that. Glad they all got hats!

Justwingingit2005 · 04/09/2024 10:46

I've loved the series.

I hope he gets recognition for that series.

JosephPilates · 04/09/2024 23:00

What an absolulte gem of a show. I am rooting for every single one of those boys. So incredible to see their potential being unlocked by Freddie & Kyle; the perfect men for the job. I agree with the PP above who said that this was as much for Fred in the end as it was the boys, and have reflected on how that terrible accident garnered him so much more respsect and made them to relate to him on a much deeper level than they did before. I'm glad that something good came out of it for him.

Beyond that I was particlarly impressed by Ben but also thought Dylan was interesting. He wasn't profiled as much but I loved his curiosity and his supportive nature. I hope Sean carries on in an upward trajectory too - when he captained I cried.

Tomorrowisanewday · 05/09/2024 08:53

I'd put a post in the Chat threads after the first programme. Really enjoyed the first series, this series has shown how just a little support can change young peoples' lives for the better.

I'm not a cricket fan, and wasn't an avid viewer of Top Gear, and I know Freddie Flintoff had had his wild days in his early cricket days, but he comes across now as such a decent person. He obviously cared about these young lads, and it must have taken a lot of guts to go through with that tour after his accident. Although he seemed to get a lot out of it himself.

Theydontknowaboutus · 05/09/2024 08:57

I loved this programme. Freddie's attachment and care for the young men went way beyond being a TV presenter. Wish all the young men in the programme the best going forward- hopefully having had this experience they can improve their own chances.

Billybagpuss · 05/09/2024 09:01

What I loved most about this series is how much this helped Freddie let go of his own demons from that dreadful crash.

and of course Adnan singing sweet Caroline.

FuckThePoPo · 05/09/2024 09:08

Really good and so pleased to see Freddie back out there. Whoever said they helped each other was definitely right.

my favourite quote was Freddie what are you not looking forward to about this trip?

flying economy 🤣🤣

justjuggling · 06/09/2024 14:59

I loved this series. What a fantastic opportunity for those young men, I do hope Freddie manages to develop some sort of national programme to continue this work. Also thought Kyle was fantastic and how great was it when he spotted his grandad’s photo? Apparently there’s going to be a 3rd series - can’t wait!

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 06/09/2024 16:17

I love that Adnan is playing at County level and wants to play for England. Found it sad that Eli had been bullied for playing cricket, how bizarre to bully someone for playing sport.

Also really loved the support they all had for each other, so glad they're all still in touch with each other.

I want more programmes like this!
