KEEP DANCING EVERYONE

Hopefully this thread will see some closure to the unpleasantness in the form of findings; as well as the build up to the beginning.

Montell could do a paso to Fire by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

Wynne could do a VW to Libiamo from La Traviata. I've always thought that would be a good crowd-pleasing Blackpool routine with all the extra dancers. The trouble is he'd have to sing it as well as dance it, otherwise we'd be left with a rendition by Squeaky Fromme and I don't think I could take that.

I guess Nick will be doing something to This Ole House, as if any dance to that song could ever top the genius of Michael Vaughan and Natalie Lowe.

JB: a Movie/Musicals Charleston to The Farmer and the Cowman from Oklahoma!?

Dr Punam: a jive to Good Lovin' by The Young Rascals?

I would be willing for Sarah to do a mawkish CC to Proud but only if she and her pro undercut it by wearing Heather Small facemasks throughout.

You have to buy it or rent it or something, still might

They have it from Series 14

OP posts:
EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/08/2024 11:54

It's £2.49 per episode and £12.99 for a full series. I think YouTube charges similarly and Amazon also.

Ah apologies, I didn’t realise this is a paid thing. We have an apple family package so it just came up on my TV without mention of a charge. It’s certainly a good watch though….excitement levels on the show were very high!

We have apple but I just searched for Strictly and nothing came up at all

TheBell · 17/08/2024 14:03

Apple TV + says Mr Bell. 😊

So I never go onto yahoo clickbait but theirs was that Celeb Masterchef had shown Strictly how to do a great line-up.
So I checked it out separately. Is it me? Am I just too old?
I only know 8/20 and don't think they're big names particularly?

Charlotte Crosby; Chloe Burrows; Christine McGuinness; Craig Doyle; Danielle Harold; Diane Carson; Dominic Skinner; Edith Bowman; Emma Thynn; Eshaan Akbar; Harry Aikines-Aryeetey; Ian ‘H’ Watkins; Jake Quickenden; Jamie MacDonald; Mutya Buena; OJ Borg; Rochenda Sandall; Snoochie Shy; Tamer Hassan and Vito Coppola

Mrsjayy · 17/08/2024 16:20

I'm really enjoying celebrity masterchef this week I've known them all, some of the list I've no idea
Emma Thyn is Lady Bath. They live at Longleat so almost Royalty 😃

She was notoriously one of the least famous celebrities that Strictly ever booked. (Aka Emma Weymouth if you're failing to remember her). Lots of people really enjoyed her stint despite the "who?" factor, she had a laid back charm.

Mrsjayy · 17/08/2024 16:35

Yes it was all a bit who is she ? I liked her.

I've heard of three because they keep being mentioned on DS Strictly casting rumour threads, two from DOI, and Emma and Vito from Strictly.
The only ones who I'd heard of in their own right were Edith Bowman, Mutya Sugababe, Paddy McGuinness' ex, and Craig off Big Brother.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/08/2024 16:49

I've heard of 8 of the Masterchef ones

Dominic Skinner is off Glow Up which I love watching

Charlotte Crosby is name recognition only I know of her roughly

Christine McGuinness I saw on her autism documentary

And the others are self explanatory like H from Steps, Vito, Emma, Edith, Mutya

I'm not sure whether I rank it higher than Strictlys line up.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 17/08/2024 16:58

I knew Snoochie and Danielle from being on I'm a Celeb. But don't actually know them from what they're celebrities "in".

I thought it was a good first week though (although didn't fully agree with the semi-final choice).

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 19/08/2024 21:19

You can add Christopher Biggins onto the list of those asked who said "no thanks, not for me"
And Reeta Chakrabarti to the list of "would decline if approached"

Report findings in a matter of days, says a "source"? (Evening Standard) Gin
Hope so, Jacob Stolworthy will be a skeleton by now Grin
(he was doing the Glitterball Scandal Blog live as it happened, over at the Independent) Wink

EsmaCannonball · 19/08/2024 21:33

Rejected by Biggins? The ignominy.

To be fair, after CBB, I'm surprised he didn't get more stick so he's probably happy that he wasn't cancelled.

MonkeyTennis34 · 20/08/2024 08:24

Christopher Biggins + Strictly????

Surely this has to happen?

Is there a petition?

Aquarius1234 · 20/08/2024 14:25

Hmmmm I reckon half the females on that celeb masterchef would say Yes to Strictly this year.
Terrible casting director. I feel they only ask who they like personally or think they need rather than the wider public audience!!

TennisWithDeborah · 20/08/2024 19:52

I liked Emma Weymouth. When asked by Tess how she felt about D/O she looked glum and said, “gutted”. None of this, “ahhh we get to do this amazing dance again” cliche stuff.

I want the celebs to have a good time but I want them to want to get to the final stages too. I think it shows respect to the world of dance, and to the viewers - they should give it a good go and treat it as a competition. Assuming they’re ok to do that physically and mentally of course.

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 20/08/2024 19:57

Charlotte Crosby CBB (2016 said she'd love to do it)
Chloe Burrows LI alumnus
Christine McGuinness Real Full Monty, The Games (2021 seemed up for it)
Danielle Harold IACGMOOH
Diane Carson
Edith Bowman Fame Academy (was offered it once, turned it down) <updates list>

Emma Thynn has already done it
Mutya Buena (2020 said she'd like to do it and was "waiting for the call")
Rochenda Sandall (2019 said she hadn't been asked but would be a bit rubbish. Had had 2 weeks training from Kevin's parents when younger!)
Snoochie Shy IACGMOOH

I have to be honest I'd only heard of four of them and three very vaguely.
The ones in bold expressed interest in the past.

  • Christine I think could be viewed as vulnerable (ASC) and has done a fair amount of modelling prudish producers might have raised eyebrows at
  • Charlotte - they already had their two reality slebs for this year in Tasha and Pete.
  • Mutya - unless didn't want to because Keisha did it at Xmas/Mutya's also doing radio 2 in the park early Sept

Mutya would have been a great signing to make it 7 women/I'd have been happy with Christine as well to make 8. I'd have switched them for Wynne and Shayne or Paul (now watch those three do really well!)

xsquared · 20/08/2024 22:07

I only know Charlotte Crosby from appearing in celebrity versions of quiz shows, but she is annoying as hell! So shouty in both programmes and I wouldn't be able to stand her if she was there every week on Strictly!
