Never seen Ariel featured!

Gagaandgag · 25/07/2024 08:12

She is a DNA expert so features on the Born without a trace episodes which involves foundlings

YouMustBeHappyNow · 25/07/2024 13:12

Oh yes, she's great but never seen her on LLF.

Love this programme but wonder if some folks have to pretend to be surprised because they’ve seen what happens! DD15 is adopted so I find it extra emotional

Great programme. The ones from previous series that stick in my mind are the woman who'd had a lovely adoptive childhood and was relieved to find that the man who had murdered her mother was not in fact her father.
Another was a boy who'd been in an orphanage now Ashlynns School. His mother had sent him birthday cards and tried to get him back but not been allowed and he wasn't shown the birthday cards.

I liked the one mentioned above with the man who became good friends with the woman who found him on her doorstep at Christmas time. She must’ve been a very young woman at the time, the chap was well into his sixties and I inferred that it was her house not her parental home because she didn’t mention alerting her mum and dad or anything.

I loved the recent one with the lovely Welsh woman with the pretty, heavily mascara’d face (sorry, bad with names!) I hope that she and her son stayed in touch. He seemed like a good’un too.

I wonder why the 2 sisters and brother were taken into care ? They all seemed nice and had good adoptions.

Usually it says on the adoption documents, but they didn't mention it in the programme. I wondered if the parents were homeless - I think they were Irish?

I can only find two episodes of the latest series. Why has it stopped?

Horrendous one on the Spanish baby scandal last night.

This was still going on in the 1990s

That was so shocking.

RTE (Irish television) has recently done a follow up documentary on the 3 babies found - 2 in phone boxes in the Republic of Ireland near the border and another in the car of a gynaecologist’s wife in Belfast back in the 1960s who turned out to be siblings. Two of the children, now adults had featured on LLF Born Without A Trace.
Incredibly, an Irish woman watching LLFBWAT in Australia saw a resemblance between the 2 foundlings featured and her own Dad who had been adopted.
She urged him to contact the show and he turned out to be a full sibling.
They believe there is a 4th child who may be a full sibling - a baby was abandoned in Newry, NI ( near the Irish border ) around the same time. They are hoping he will come forward.
The parents were found via DNA and the story is told on The Phone Box Babies on the RTE Player. Well worth a watch. 🥲
Amazing siblings.
There is a thread in Craicnet on Mumsnet on the programme.

Is it possible to watch it on catch up somehow?

Yes RTE have a “player” called RTEPlayer
Google it and hopefully you will get it.
