Loving this match Monfils Wawrinka match ... two veterans of tennis probably mates outside of playing each other. Just wanting a decent match together and have some fun in the twilight of their professional careers

Surely they’ve got to do it after whatever is his last match? It would be weird to do a big farewell thing only for him to be back two days later! They’ll probably just be on standby at every match just in case. Although if he ended up dropping out between matches that would be scuppered so maybe they will just do something tomorrow.

See, if I was in charge of scheduling, I would have put Stan vs Gael on No1 Court as the bonus match. A men's match will take longer (usually) than a woman's and the two old timers deserve it! Then they would have had another 90 minutes to (potentially) finish. Paolini would have finished her match on Court 2, no problem.

There was a group of sponsors at the Stuttgart tournament (he lost the final to Jack Draper)- they clearly thought Matteo would win. They looked quite menacing. The winner's bike was already in Matteo's colours. They were getting Jack another one in clours of his own choice

It's why women's matches never get put on as the night match at RG- they are over too quickly- and the punters have paid good money for it,and don't want a match that may be over in an hour.

Now some women's matches are epics, but the majority are not. And the ones likely to be put on the show courts at that time are most likely to be fairly speedy (and involve Iga).
