The other thread was getting too slow (and we were running out of space faster than the thread on a bobbin)

There's just no point Patrick and Esme saying 'It's a shame you didn't finish' or 'It's not very neat' when they have been given SO little time to sew it properly. The sewing this year is poor - but mostly because they keep having to rush it.

BiscuityBoyle · 25/06/2024 21:19

If no one is finishing then it must be too short.

TerryWogansWig · 25/06/2024 21:19

I’m annoyed by Patrick’s unshaven chin, next to a trimmed moustache!

AnnaMagnani · 25/06/2024 21:19

Anyone else distracted by wanting to know how to make Pascha's cat collar?

Binglebong · 25/06/2024 21:19

She was the only one who finished wasn't she?

SoupDragon · 25/06/2024 21:20

Making kids costumes from odd fabrics is my specialist subject!

Has Esme been shagging DA?

SoupDragon · 25/06/2024 21:23

Esme "knows" everyone.

Pasha has good shape on that alligator head

Binglebong · 25/06/2024 21:25

The alligator is looking amazing.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2024 21:25

I'm really impressed by the alligator so far.

Check out Esme name checking Cher - she is shameless. I love the cat collar and hate the unrealistic timescales. You didn’t hand sew the lining - no shit Sherlock, you gave us 3 hours - grrrrr.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2024 21:26

Suzy is looking shaky this week

And georgie.

In fairness to Luke I got reasonably far in the sewing bee application process and you do have to have a 'thing' to have a hope of getting further. All we see is his reaction after a couple of takes to being asked 'do you think your drag experience is helpful in this task'

They don't have enough time- it must be off putting for new sewers/sewists because it makes it look harder than it should be. I've recently embraced slow sewing and getting a lot of joy from French seams . I think it's a bit hypocritical of Patrick to be campaigning against fast fashion everywhere else and then judging a competition that's basically become a fastest sewing competition.

Binglebong · 25/06/2024 21:26

Does anyone else get the impression Luke and Kiall don't gel? Probably just me!

Jellykat · 25/06/2024 21:29

I made a complete Max (where the wild things are) outfit for my nephew, best fun i ever had!

Wolfcub · 25/06/2024 21:29

If that alligator doesn't win it's a travesty

Piggywaspushed · 25/06/2024 21:30

The alligator is amazing.

Jellykat · 25/06/2024 21:30

Suzys is a bit of a mess, sorry

Piggywaspushed · 25/06/2024 21:30

Lion also fab.

Binglebong · 25/06/2024 21:32

Love the dalmatian too.

Yes I agree with this!

It’s not exactly sustainable is it if you end up with multiple unfinished outfits?

Madcats · 25/06/2024 21:33

DD used to wander around in a (shop bought, the horror) green dino/croc outfit for a lot of her pre-school years.

We never figured out what hers was supposed to be.

The music today must surely have been chosen by the people who do the soundtracks for Homes Under the Hammer.

BiscuityBoyle · 25/06/2024 21:35

i don’t have any childhood photos!
