I've had Netflix and now but never Disney plus. I'm really not sure what to cancel and what to keep. Any recommendations? I like decent films and drama.

I keep moving around tbh. Disney is great for kids and definitely worth a go for a while. I'm done with star wars and the like though. I'll go back eventually for Only Murders in the Building.

At the moment, I've got channel 4 on demand without ads and that's been good for a while.

I had itvx without ads on a free trial to watch a couple of things but didn't think it was worth keeping.

I always have Netflix though. It's always got something. And stuff moves around between them.

I'd keep Netflix and join the others now and again. If you haven't had Disney, prime, Apple before you may get free trials.

I had Disney on offer but didn't really find anything to watch as not a Disney fan! Apple TV has some good dramas.

But I'm catching up with stuff on iplayer, itvx as missed a lot.so only have Netflix at mo.

I'd keep Netflix, we cancelled Disney+ and Apple. Couldn't navigate Disney+, too much visual info on one screen and Apple isnt updated often enough. I like the 4OD, it's great, Prime is good and free if you have Prime membership, Netflix reigns supreme.

grumpypedestrian · 20/06/2024 18:16

I dislike Amazon as most of the content you have to pay extra for on top of the membership. I don’t want to pay a subscription then have to pay on top of it.

I stopped netflix in September last year and apart from Bridgerton I've not missed it. I've had Disney since the same time and watch far more on that than I ever did on netflix.

We rotate between Netflix, Apple, Disney and Now Entertainment.

On Disney I would recommend

The Bear
Tiny, Beautiful Things
Dopesick
The Dropout
Abbot Elementary
Hot Zone 1 & 2
Class of ‘09

Apple is good for decent films and drama but the volume is limited so it’s only worth taking for a wee while or if you get a free trial/free months with a new Apple purchase.

Mumteedum · 20/06/2024 21:06

Dopesick is on iPlayer I think.

BBC has upped their game lately. Been some great stuff on

StrawPony · 20/06/2024 21:16

I have tried Netflix, Disney and Now and I personally think that Now has the best amount of high quality drama. Having said that, I never have more than one streaming service at a time so cancel the one I’m with every few months.

Everysand · 20/06/2024 21:33

Disney is OKish, I have 3 months free from Tesco Clubcard at the moment so if you have that I would check if you have the offer. I just finished The Fosters and am now watching Good Trouble on Disney. I have paused Netflix for a month as I don't like paying every month for it if I'm watching stuff on another channel. There are often free trials of Apple TV which has some good dramas.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 20/06/2024 21:36

I ditched Netflix, now have Prime, Acorn, and Disney+. Most of the time though I use ITVX, UKTV Play and Freevee

GiftedThreads · 09/07/2024 11:01

It's awkward as we mainly watch Netflix but the kids love Disney+ and my son is now into Anime so we've also signed up to Crunchy Roll. The problem is all these different streaming services were becoming costly.

I recently cut them all off and switched to Gamsgo, Google it. Basically you can sign up for each service for around £3.50 a month. They have been working fine and everyone's happy as now I have all 3 services for the same cost as what I was paying for just Netflix before. Try code GIVEME5 for 5% off

mugglewump · 09/07/2024 12:29

When Netflix stopped the multi-address access, I took my membership down to the basic with ads one as we don't use it much and the kids could no longer access our account at uni. Instead, I took out Disney+ for them which does allow multiple addresses - at least for now... The Netflix with ads is one device at a time and has very few ads on it.

Singleandproud · 09/07/2024 12:30

There is so much on Disney for everyone it's definitely my favourite.

I have Prime because of Amazon but there's not much on it I find. I will take Netflix if and when there's something I want to watch (I'm waiting for a couple of series to return).
