Another scheduling issue I don't understand.....in the men's doubles, several second round matches have either been completed or started and suspended due to the rain before some first round matches have even begun!!!

It’s bizarre kazza - I really don’t understand how some of the decisions are made.

I am getting really annoyed with the drunk bloke(s) who keep shouting out that annoying fanfare at every opportunity (you know, the one that everyone shouts Ole after). It seems to happen every time there’s a few seconds break in play!

That chant is so annoying Chessie and on Children's Day they were at it constantly. Do they teach it at school or something?

I'm finding the "bababababa dada!" "Ole!" call and response very tedious this year. I know it's the French Open thing but enough already. Plus the weird breath exhale noise. Is it just me? Sorry for the rant.

Yeah I think it's the break noise @JaneJeffer. I'm not properly concentrating 😃. They've done it for years!

Do you remember a few years ago they did the arty camera shots at the FO with sort of sepia stills of the players projected on to a shot of the sky? I'm not explaining it very well. I think it was inspired by some arty French films at the time. But they did it for a few years and it got old quite soon. I do try to appreciate these things as loveable quirks; a bit of We Are The French Open branding!!

The call and response thing is unfortunate when the "Ole !" is a bit halfhearted!

Btw watching Medvedev v Machac with everyone under coats and rugs. And this is under the roof. Can't remember a FO with quite such shitty weather before for Week 1.

I did think the Griekspoor match might be tough for Sasacha, he seems to be settling into that.

Last night they kept going on about the temperature- seemingly ignoring the 2020 version, in October, when Vika turned up for her match on th day one dressed for the arctic and not at all happy about the playing conditions .

Reminiscing about how strange it was with only 1,000 in the stadium, matches finishing late evening, RF having to walk home (2 miles he said) to his hotel and talking to Colin Murray for 5live. And how freezing the night sessions were and the dark.

They both said it was such an odd time and felt so long ago!
