I always feel sorry for the losing player when the winner drops out after the match. I felt very sorry for Taylor last year when Rafa dropped out of Wimbledon after beating him. But Taylor was very gracious saying he didn’t deserve to go through if he couldn’t beat someone with an injury, which is a fair point really.

Jane he would have found an excuse from somewhere, if it wasn't his knee, it would have been something. He seems to think if he shouts loudly, everyone has to take notice. Joe Bloggs ranked 324 , just has to put up with it. No one cares.

Good for Alex- do not blame the ground staff.

And the scheduling- it's been an issue in all the tournaments for ages. Only gets to be a problem or highlighted when certain players are affected. When Murray complains at AO, when Djok complains at RG.

They are not the first ones it has happened to.

Chessie I felt sorry for Taylor too- Rafa did really well to get through that match - and Rafa has been on the other side of it, when he has been beaten (Steve Darcis withdrew after beating him, famously, in the early rounds at Wimbledon). But Taylor was very good about it.

DH sent me a text saying ‘Novak no more’ - I thought he meant at RG but I wasn’t 100% sure!

He’s cried Wolf so many times before that I didn’t believe he had a real injury but I guess he must have - and yes the conditions and scheduling are the same for everyone and he does usually seem to come out favourably with things like that

At least we are spared him turning up at the next match with massive strapping on his knee- which is what I was expecting, to be honest.

I'm still not convinced about the injury! I think he's probably wrecked because he was so determined to beat the younger players no matter what.

I’m waiting to see how he blames the water bottle for causing his knee injury.

Jane yes, he likes to think he's still 25. And perpetuate the 'fittest player on tour' thing. He likes to spend time with the younger players like an embarrassing uncle. See all the ATP videos he's in. But the gap is starting to show- and the magic potions can only do so much.

Chessie bits of the plastic bottle probably found their way from his head to his knee. A scan will no doubt confirm it.

He's always making snarky comments disguised as jokes about them as well in those videos.

I think he's blaming the court this time. Obviously, Cerundolo was playing on a different court and was unaffected by the conditions Djok had to endure

kazza it's funny how often that happens, like when his opponents aren't affected by the time they are playing, or the length of the match, or the weather conditions. Or shadows.

I remember 2019, when he was playing Thiem in the semis and stormed off court in strop. Like Domi wasn't affected by the wind and rain. Just him.

It's nice that Stef is loved up this week.

Mac is building up Carlos, but going into this, Stef has had the much better season.

Hope that Carlos isn’t having bee related trauma flashbacks from Stef’s outfit!

Stef really does seem to have a mental block when it comes to Carlos. He has played so well, against other players.
