Contestants were announced today for the new series starting on Monday 3rd.

I don't know if I can do it this year folks.

I think she looks like Tyler (Kaz and Liberty's series) I think their eyes and bone structure are really alike, she reminded me of a girly Tyler straight away.

I really thought it would be Uma but I think you’ve called it correctly in saying that the islanders were told to choose Patsy - leaving Harriet, Sean and Uma in increases the possibility of drama.

Why is Jess putting up with Toupee Ron? Just move on already!

Yeah I knew they would choose Patsy and Munveer - and I do kind of get their reasoning. Those are the two that don’t have any current or potential romantic interests based on the current cohort. New islanders may have came in that they connected with, but as it stands no one was interested in either of them. Patsy kept trying to connect with Omar but it was evident he had zero attraction to her.

Re. Patsy I feel she looks so much like Jess and yet she was overlooked by men who chased after Jess. Unfortunately I do think her disability played a part in the way they viewed her. She wasn’t my favourite but I do think the odds were stacked against her.

Must’ve been quite frustrating for her. She’s a woman with a visible disability trying to enter the very superficial world of reality dating show influencers.

It’s good that Patsy and Munveer stayed true to how they felt though and didn’t try and force a connection or pretend they both liked each other just to stay in the show, which I’m sure many previous islanders have done.

I can’t believe they made Uma read out the text to say Mimi and Ayo were chosen as one of the favourite couples.

I do feel like producers made it so the islanders chose who was sent home, rather than the public, as they probably know Harriett isn’t very popular with some viewers. Keeping her in means more drama.

I don't find Ron physically attractive, but i do understand the appeal of a cheeky chappy.

I'm liking seeing more of the friendships this year.
I did chuckle at Ron and Ayo discussing their ultimatums. Like they couldn't believe their luck at even being in that position

I don't get why Jess didn't confront Harriett as she was apparently so sure she was lying? Surely you'd be fuming?

I find Jess a bit two faced tbh. She was pissed off about Harriett not telling her about kissing Ronnie in the hideaway, but now she's done exactly the same thing to her? She also said she wouldn't be kissing Ronnie again before he'd made his mind up, but did anyway. I think she likes to portray that she's this strong woman who knows her worth, but isn't at all.

I don't like Harriett either btw!

I know what you mean about Jess, although I still really like her. I think she feels she’s sort of Toupee Ron’s girlfriend so it’s fine for them to kiss etc. I think that she’s much more into him than she’s letting on because she is just putting up with being treated terribly by him.

The way he lied to her face was awful because it was concerning how easily he lied and he threw Harriet right under the bus and I don’t like her either!

I think Uma and Jess are absolutely stunning. I’m still not keen on Uma and I find her voice grating but she’s beautiful.

Mimi just moves like a goddess, I swear she glides!

This is probably controversial but I’m starting to find Mimi’s total under reaction to everything rather unsettling. She is so placid that I find myself wondering if she’s sedated. She definitely isn’t as she’s perfectly capable of articulating herself but she just looks quite spaced out.

Just found this thread, wish I found it sooner otherwise I could have ranted about it with you lot rather than the husband who doesn't really give two shites.

None of them are particularly growing on me this year, though I did love how Jess stood up for herself without being nasty like lots of them do.

The rest of them are doing my head in, Harriet especially.

I don't like Jess at all. I think she talks the talk but then doesn't flow through. She also gives out 'I'm superior ' vibes. I'm not a fan of Harriet in the least but I'm hoping he picks her as Jess so clearly thinks she's so much better than Harriet. The I'm the prize stuff is grating when it's said over and over

They do all seem to be superficially very confident but desperately insecure underneath. Yes Mimi could well be on a sedating antidepressant or similar.

Or she could bean introvert where everything is going on under he surface but would an introvert go on love island ? Probably not !

I don't think it was Patsy's Erb's palsy. I think more she came across forward/awkward/ oversharey. Especially mentioning sharing a bed with her mum on the first day. I thought why make yourself sound odd when it's clearly temporary?! Beautiful woman and the right man will love that candour but a bit too quirky for LI.

I want Sam to relax and see past the TOWIE stuff. I don't think she and Joey have a real future but she's shutting off others too and could be good fun but instead has gone quiet and insecure because she feels second fiddle to him

I don't like Jess or Harriett TBH. I do hope Toupee Ron picks Harriett just so that Jess can see the real him, and so that they can be voted out together at the earliest opportunity. Also really hope that fire pit conversation gets played back to Jess at some point so she can see what a snake Toupee is.

Uma is sooo un-self-aware moaning on about how none is taking her feelings into account.

Funny how the girls don't seem to have as strong a group as they often do - we usually see morning de-briefs on the balcony and there's none of that camaraderie this time.

Mimi may be worried about saying or doing the wrong thing anf affecting her clinical career. There is scope to be edited to look dishonest, underhanded or a bully now there's another girl involved. That could cast a bit of a shadow for a psych nurse so she might be going with the 'least said, soonest mended' option. If it's that, it's probably quite stressful and I can see why she might just shut off. Especially as they're all so forensic this year in calling each other out

I don't think she will as I think that's the only reason she's interested in Joey. All her talk of PDA on the train so people "know he's her man", it's all about what she perceives other people to think. Nobody looks at people necking on public transport and thinks wow, I wish he was my boyfriend, they cringe and feel uncomfortable! People who are that into each other to do that are absolutely not giving a shit who's watching.

I just watched the Joey Essex doc on him losing his mum; it's really made me think about him and his behaviours differently. Worth a watch!
