Contestants were announced today for the new series starting on Monday 3rd.

I don’t think Munveer and Uma will be dumped but in any event I think Ayo likes Ima more than Mimi now and Mimi should just let it go. She’s too classy for this.

Both Ron and Harriet think they’re the main character. Harriet is tiresome and such a pick me girl and Ron is a massive slimey skeeze 🤮

I like Mimi although her makeup had that awful green tinge to it that’s peculiar to love islanders. I think Jess is great. Her and Sean would probably be quite nice together. Sam is so caught up in the excitement of being with Joey Essex she’s willing to completely look past the fact that he doesn’t remotely fancy her.

Has Joey had proper girlfriends, like long term relationships? He just seems v young for his age and as though he hasn’t grown up, it’s weird. I can’t see him in a proper relationship with a woman for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

I reckon Omar will pick Uma (super matchy names) and it'll be a wife swap. Didn't he say something about how Patsy seems keen on him which he likes but not much about actually being that keen on her, plus he cut her short trying to flirt? I think Munveer will leave but Uma has too much interest to go

SO glad they decided to steal! Hope Omar picks Patsy just because it annoys me the way Uma was all "babe I just don't want you to be upset because he's picking me" to Mimii when that wasn't even the case.

Muncher is probably going home, he just hasn't had any airtime which is a usual indicator for the fact that producers aren't on side.

Candy man is coming across as desperate now. He just hones in on anyone's sloppy seconds.

I don’t warm to Uma either - her concern and friendship towards Mimi are so fake. I don’t want Mimi to pick Ayo as he just isn’t in to her and doesn’t know how to tell her. Plus Ayo will continue to spend all his time with Uma if she doesn’t leave.

Toupee Ron is not worthy of Jess. She’s stunning though like Mimi she needs to let go.

Candy man is desperate I agree but I’d like to see someone go in for him. He seems decent.

Munveer is beautiful but he doesn’t have the classic Love Island looks of fake teeth, bad hair, overly muscular etc.

I also think Joey fancies Harriet - what do they all see her in her? Her weird greased eyebrows and dreadful make up. She’s grim. I think he’s really quite afraid of Sam’s reaction though if he does anything else.

There is a theme this year of the girls crying a lot and feeling rejected. They are quite vocal about it too. I think in other seasons at this early stage the girls were a bit more sanguine about the boys playing the field.

Omar is giving Craig David - I like him but I don’t know if he’ll choose Patsy. I think she might’ve come on a bit strong for him. I like her though.

I really like Nicole and Ciaran.

I have also noticed that horrible yellow tinge to some make up - reminds me newborn baby poo- think it’s some sort of contouring thing - I wonder if it’s a bit of a trick of the light like the red clothing appearing orange.

Harriet wears so much make up. Even by LI standards it’s off the scale!

Nicole and Ciaran are deffo my faves at the moment.

I get the impression joey is working around to making a move on Harriet but wants it to be a big thing later in the series so is building friendship first then is possibly intending to pop up at the end and win.

I oddly also can't see him in a relationship with a woman at all. Not saying I think he is gay necessarily, just more a childlikeness. I haven't seen any of his prior TV stuff . Perhaps he's deliberately staying away from past behaviour for his image or is feeling the age gap like a mature student not wanting to be weird around the younger ones hence not being kissy with Samantha (maybe he simply doesn't fancy her but I think he would have had an explanation for that).

Mimi - and I think Jess is it? Both need to walk away.

I’m embarrassed for Mimi especially. Omar had asked her something while they were deliberating and Mimi said “oh yeah Ayo told me he is still into me” and he was like “this changes everything” I wanted to scream. Go by actions not words!

This man essentially told everyone Uma is his ideal type over you, in the kissing game and he’s barley spent any time with you.

I get the whole feeling attached to someone but it’s only a week in.

@Seedsnnut I feel like Ayo’s continued interest in Mimi is all in her head now. It’s embarrassing and she’s beautiful and worth so much more. If she chooses him it will end in complete humiliation as it always does when someone is placed in a couple against their will.

I agree about Joey being very childlike. I think he had a longish relationship with Sam Faiers back in the day but that’s the only relationship I can recall. He’s like a teen only weirdly asexual

The irony with all these tweakments is that they age the girls terribly.

Joey has been on a fair few dating reality programs and he’s never really hit it off with anyone. I agree he has a childlike quality. I wonder if it is to do with losing his Mum at such a young age. I actually saw the documentary he did about it and I found it quite touching.

I saw an article on SM this morning and it was saying how Mimi is quite isolated in there. I hadn’t really thought about it but I agree; she doesn’t seem to be really close to any of the girls. She is very measured and composed but I wonder if the other islanders find her boring and aloof.

I am enjoying this series more than I expected.
