Am recommending it massively massively massively if you want something bleak and dark and funny and 27 mins per ep.

Started it last week too and enjoying it.

biedrona · 19/01/2024 16:12

Same here. On season 3 now.

BoulderOpal · 19/01/2024 16:13

Watched every single one and wish could start again, love it.
Hopefully a new series on way?

BoulderOpal · 19/01/2024 16:13

Actually I am struggling for something to watch.
Any suggestions of something similar?

IShouldProbablyHooverMore · 19/01/2024 16:49

So glad Netflix has all 3 seasons. Fingers crossed they'll pick it up for one more season at least.

KombuchaKalling · 19/01/2024 16:50

It’s great! Really enjoying it and glad there are 3 seasons

Rollergirl11 · 19/01/2024 18:31

DH and I watching also and really enjoying it.

@BoulderOpal i think it’s quite similar to Colin from Accounts. You can watch that on Iplayer. Sadly only one series so far. But it has a similar vibe but Aussie.

Doteycat · 19/01/2024 18:38

Jesus no.
It's awful.
So badly written. I had to turn it off it was giving me the creeps.
Can't believe this drivel passed for entertainment.

noooooooo · 19/01/2024 18:46

Yeah I laughed out loud a good few times, Loudermilk is so eruditely horrible. Will Sasso is brilliant (used to love him in Less Than Perfect) and the Mugsy arc - particularly his speech about his demon- was really moving. Hope it comes back!

sweatervest · 19/01/2024 19:35

wooo hooo to the loudermilk massiv!
it's like a much more grotesque Fisk kind of thing.
also i want something similar to watch afterwards. hmmmmm.

Liked the first series. Not so much the second, when I gave up

Perfect, thank you I will have a look.

countdowntonap · 21/01/2024 15:17

I’m part way through S3 and finding this season the funniest yet. It reminds me of Californication for anyone who’s not seen that.

hampsteadmum · 22/01/2024 01:09

Really good! Gave me Kominsky Method vibes.

Loudermilk is the only comedy show that DH actually sat through in years. Probably the first one since Modern Family. (He also maintains that Loudermilk is not a grumpy man. Just a man with a healthy degree of scepticism 🤪).

Tagyoureit · 25/01/2024 10:13

I'm watching it now, Cutter is fucking insane!

Loudermilk is selfish rude twat, doesn't even notice his best friend relapsing.... when does it get funny?

NomDePrune · 26/01/2024 22:08

Liking it so far but it reminds me of something ... Black Books? Because he looks a bit like Dylan Moran and he's grumpy?

Willmafrockfit · 01/02/2024 07:29

found it also on netflix
dh actually laughs at it
i am enjoying it, like the short lengths of each episode as well

sweatervest · 01/02/2024 08:02

It's like curb your enthusiasm on speed. Which is good for a small brain like mine tbh

Loving it.

Luciansmum6 · 05/02/2024 22:25

I loved it especially as someone with experience of addiction in the family i think it was well written and honest but also really funny. I think loudermilk got better as the seasons progressed at the end I quite liked him.

Zeroeffsleft · 03/09/2024 09:50

Loudermilk is deeply misogynistic, with homophobia and fatphobia throughout. Every female character is either someone’s love interest, sex object or there as a plot device for a man’s character. How the writing passed any kind of decency testing is beyond me. The episode where his father turns up was disgusting, especiallly the end where it’s revealed he had sex with the very young girl it’s verging on paedo.
I had hoped this might be a nuanced look at addiction, recovery, relationships. But it simply adds to all the toxic masculinity content out there. If you’re looking for something where women can just be interesting characters and not just there to confirm beauty standards or service men’s interests, then I’d recommend The Bear.
