depends how much he notices I guess . EE can be shouty and aggressive for 7.30 its up to you really.

Mycatstares9 · 08/12/2023 16:46

Probably not appropriate

Kittylala · 08/12/2023 16:46

No - put him to bed.

ShirleyPhallus · 08/12/2023 16:48

You’ll find out how much he picks up when he says “you’re not my mum!” And you should back “YES I AM!!!!!”

Doubleespresso33 · 08/12/2023 16:49

Depends if he likes it or he’s more into Corrie?

...you slaaaaag 😂

allmycats · 08/12/2023 18:32

Why would you expose your child to the shouting and foul language and violence?

muchalover · 08/12/2023 18:37

You are exposing him to toxic relationships. You invited them into your home and they will be part of the modelling of behaviour for your son. Children learn by exposure and they pay attention to everything.

Of course you can watch eastenders, it will do them no harm. But surely you'd rather wait
For them to go to bed? My toddlers don't leave me in peace for a second to concentrate on anything but playing with them.

We're afraid we don't believe that the OP is genuine so we've removed their threads and posts.

It's perfectly all right.

Mossstitch · 08/12/2023 22:23

I'm ashamed to say that mine came out recognising eastenders music😳 but once old enough to recognise words and angry speech I wouldn't have it on with them in the room.

R4R1 · 08/12/2023 23:33

A lot of mixed opinions about this.

Let's take Peter rabbit for example.

They are basically a gang, A group of criminal rabbits, masterminding schemes on how to steal fruit and veg from farmers.

Isn't this toxic ? What if my son becomes a armed robber.

Is it any better then eastenders ?

Sorry OP I think this is a ridiculous comparison.

Watch it after he goes to bed.

Kids take in a lot more than you realise at that age.

Lavender14 · 09/12/2023 00:47

You need to follow your gut op as everyone is comfortable with different things, but personally I wouldn't. But then I don't watch ee because of the drama and shouting etc anyways. Can you watch it after they go to bed and put something more child friendly on in the mean time.

lovelyjubbly888 · 09/12/2023 00:47

As a PP said, he may prefer Corrie or even Hollyoaks. Something to strongly consider

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/12/2023 00:51

When my DD was a baby she sat forward in her baby chair fascinated by Robert Kilroy Silk when he was on "Killroy" . (Probably explains a lot of why she;s such a demon now Grin )

Don't let him watch "Watership Down" then , he'll be traumastised for years !.
Fiver and Hazel don't even wear little blue jackets , they are buck naked .
Being buck rabbits , it's appropriate .

Wanders off

Strokethefurrywall · 09/12/2023 01:37

It's wrong cos it's shit.

You need to warn him he'll get skinned alive if he's caught. That should put him off.

MrsPuddle · 09/12/2023 08:13

well if your ds is as you say……‘he’s 18 months and pretty smart’..

Let him watch it, if he’s that smart he will realise it’s too old for him and go watch some Disney instead!

Meadowgrasses · 09/12/2023 08:17

OP: should I do x?
Almost everyone: no.
OP: lots of mixed opinions.

InaBarbieWorld · 09/12/2023 08:22

When DC was a babe in arms I was holding them during Corrie and a shouting match on the cobbles started- DC burst into tears at the raised voices. They didn’t get exposed to that in their real life so that was the end grown up telly with DC in the room
