Normally when they bring extra dancers in, it's quite a big event and we're looking to see how the celebrities cope, and how they look in comparison. I've know the judges compliment people by saying they were as good as or better than the backing dancers.
I just realised that, with Leyton, it must have been totally routine. He's used to leading backing dancers, and as he's had professional roles he's used to dealing with them. I get it that they need people with at least some known ability, but I do hope they row back a bit on the ringers next year.
