I think that Layton will be in the next two DOs and will be saved both times. Ellie or the other contestant will beat him in the final via the public vote.

I really like them all and don’t mind who wins now. I don’t think anyone is punching above their weight particularly.

concernedmumhelp · 26/11/2023 20:05

I agree that the lyrics of "I will survive" suggest a strong defiant woman, which wasn't the choreography for Angela.

I thought that the tenseness and defiance shown in Ellie and Vito's Argentine Tango was the vibe that Angela and Carlos should have had.

I feel bad for Angela. I'd have rather her gone through than Nigel or Bobby.

However I may be in the small minority who is glad Layton stayed in, i hope their musical week number will be phenomenal..

I'm with you. If anyone stole Angela's place it was Bobby, as he's the weakest dancer there (using an emotional cc in week 10 was just not playing fair).

So happy Layton and Nikita are through. I saw definite improvement in their body contact, as Craig suggested to them.

chaosmaker · 26/11/2023 20:06

Sending you love @MouseMinge I've just had car, not allowed training at work and sleeplessness trauma this week. Next week will be a better one x

EsmaCannonball · 26/11/2023 20:06

The problem I have with the business end of the show is that the producers have too much power. If you are at the bottom of the leaderboard it becomes incredibly difficult mathematically to escape the dance-off. Suddenly the dance genre you get, your position in the running order, and the judges' scores become very important, and it's hard for the viewers to rescue the person at the bottom.

It is going to be annoying if Layton knocks out journey contestants, but the main issue last night was Bobby being placed above danger when, imo, he should have been bottom of the leaderboard.

BadgersBumChin · 26/11/2023 20:07

I’ve switched over in disgust to the Darts championship - now one of them taking part in SCD would be a sight you could never unsee to be seen

cordelia16 · 26/11/2023 20:08

I love how close both Nikita and Vito seem to be with Carlos. I adore how affectionate they are with each other. Must be hard to see one of their friends go.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 26/11/2023 20:08

mingeofmouse

I’m sorry you’ve had a rotter. 🌻

Im giving you a flower. I’m sure you’d prefer that to bring out a smile than a shimmying egg…

Wishing you a better week to come.

chaosmaker · 26/11/2023 20:09

dancing with eggs would be a whole other type of show....

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 26/11/2023 20:02

Either you are both my neighbours or they are all the same!

I'm NE England.

Thedrownedprophet · 26/11/2023 20:13

Angela and Carlos are so lovely and classy. Gutted to see them go

MeinKraft · 26/11/2023 20:13

Maybe Layton will take the hint and stop pissing about doing backflips in a dress and concentrate on actually dancing properly.

Who am I going to vote for now Angela is gone?! Not Layton obviously. Can't forgive Bobby for dead mum week sorry plus he's not that good a dancer. Never warmed to Ellie. Annabelle it is if her dances are any good? I thought last night was fab.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 26/11/2023 20:13

Aye @Maireas and @MouseMinge

Angela’s colouring is just beautiful. I love that she didn’t go full Hawaiian tropic (other brands are available).

Choux · 26/11/2023 20:14

So Angela's cha cha wasn't great. But who has done a great cha cha in the past? I want to watch a really good one to see what her dance could have been.

TheShellBeach · 26/11/2023 20:14

Yes. It's going to follow a predictable course now, which is very tedious.

We've said this almost since week one.

DH can't stand Layton and is angry that the judges will save him every week, a la Ashley Roberts.

Quite possibly MAFS… (apologies, only those who watched a specific dinner party episode will get this)

LastChristmasIgaveyoumyTart · 26/11/2023 20:16

I love Ellie and she has gone on a real journey, if you look back at her first dance she has shaped up fantastically. She could pass for a professional dancer now.

MouseMinge · 26/11/2023 20:16

Thanks, @SheldonesqueTheBstard . Definitely flowers and not eggs, my lala couldn't take it.

mydogisthebest · 26/11/2023 20:17

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 26/11/2023 19:49

Me too but I say every year that I bloody hate emotionally manipulative CCs. Perhaps it's because I know they are trying to play me but because my heart is a cold dead lump of stone it doesn't work.

I cry at everything (even ads) but I didn't cry at Bobby's dance because I refuse to played by them also plus I thought the dance was awful.

I thought Bobby was the weakest dancer and should have been bottom of the leader board and the one to go. I wanted Angela in the final

theconfidenceofwho · 26/11/2023 20:20

I loved Bobby & gave him all my votes. I also loved Angela but didn't vote for her as she was so stiff and I didn't enjoy watching her.

That said, I would have much preferred Layton to go as I simply don't enjoy watching him (although I love Nikita).

JumpingDizzy · 26/11/2023 20:10

I'm NE England.

Although I am by heritage I'm at the opposite end of the country. Mind you you didn't mention lost cats so you couldn't actually be my neighbour 😉

This is why I'm now feeling irritated about the outcome, because it feels scripted and not just rough luck of the draw on the night.

It feels like anyone is inevitably collateral damage vs Layton in a dance off regardless of actual performance and skill of the dance.

GrouchyKiwi · 26/11/2023 20:23

Choux · 26/11/2023 20:14

So Angela's cha cha wasn't great. But who has done a great cha cha in the past? I want to watch a really good one to see what her dance could have been.

Alesha and Matthew Cutler had a good one, and Danny Mac's with Oti was ace, especially for a first week dance. I wished they'd done that again in the final, it would have been superb.

TucSandwich · 26/11/2023 20:25

Sandytoxic · 26/11/2023 20:04

Awww I’m always in bits to “rule the world”

We had it at my daughter's funeral. She loved it.

catwithflowers · 26/11/2023 20:26

So sad that Angela is out. I love her positivity and sense of fun and general bonkersness! She surely must be a Mumsnetter and I hope she is reading all the positive and supportive comments here.

I think she danced her best in the dance off; I don't like the Cha Cha and it's such a shame she had to dance this to stay in the competition. If it had been last week's Argentine Tango against Leyton and Nikita this week I think might have been a different story.

Angela, if you are reading, I think you were amazing and entered this competition for all the right reasons 😘
