Has anyone seen this? It's about the horrible murder of Elizabeth Haysom's prominent parents.

I just started watching it, but Elizabeth comes across as a manipulative spoiled brat. Interestingly, she blames her being shipped off to boarding school at a young age for her resentment towards her parents.

On a side note, she is an absolute spitting image of my former sister-in-law (when she wears her hair long during her testimony) - even down to the quiet way she speaks and her mannerisms- it's as if it was my sister-in-law on screen 😮(not that anyone cares, but thought I'd share it anyway and my SIL is lovely btw).

It's in my watch list. Might start watching it later!

Just finished it. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but this case reminded me of the Menendez brothers case (there's a Channel 4 documentary about that case). Rich, arrogant kids and absolutely idiotic behaviour after the horrific crime.

I've watched 3 episodes so far. If it wasn't for the fact of the cinema tickets I'd believe both were there. She shows no emotion whatsoever at any time. I agree, they both come across as spoilt entitled rich kids.

Yes I've watched it. Only they know what truly happened and I do believe they were both involved.

She's really unpleasant and I don't understand why everyone claims these two were incredibly smart. They were absolute morons.

[SPOILER ALERT] He confessed three(!) times in different languages when no one asked him to and I don't even know why everyone thought her behaviour was smart - she could have blamed it all on him, but bizarrely also made loads of admissions. And why didn't they just flee to Germany in the first place?! At the time Germany didn't extradite its own citizens I believe. Why did they go to all these other places hoping that he would be sent back to Germany instead of actually going to Germany?!?

I agree, really not that smart. Fleeing in the first place was a dumb move because it instantly made them look guilty. He kept changing his story too. They might have been 'book' smart but certainly not street smart!

And the fact that they kept every single incriminating letter they've ever written to each other! What was that all about?!? It's like a playbook on how to get caught

There is a lot more coming out about the Menendez brothers recently that has put the case in a very different light. I don’t know the whole story but they were apparently horrifically abused by the father for years. Some very prominent people are campaigning for them to be released.

Yes - there's a documentary on that case on Channel 4 called "The Menendez Murders: Erik tells all". The big question is: have they made up the abuse to try to get away with murder for inheritance? I recommend watching the documentary- it includes video records of the brothers' testimonies.
