I warmed to Jamie Lynn. I didn't know she'd had a child at 16 and that she'd had to resist pressure to terminate. Good for her.

I remember it well - it was SO controversial because she played a ‘good girl’ character on Zoey 101. The press DID call her a slut, a tramp etc, and people lost their minds that their own 16yo’s would go out and get pregnant to copy JL. Colin’s stating how she should have an abortion. the fact her boyfriend was a little bit older and technically broke the law having sex with her passed everyone by. I imagine a picture of 16yo famous teen with a pregnancy bump was well sought after and I believe her when she said the press hounded her.

Also I’m not surprised she’s anxious- her DD was 8 and nearly died after she drove, IIRC, a farm vehicle into a pond and almost drowned. I’m sure she was in a coma for a while. I imagine that has a huge impact of a parent’s anxiety!

Having just googled about the Britney feud. She apparently blamed JL for knowing the conservatorship was in place and ‘doing nothing about it’. The conservatorship started on Feb 2008. JL was 16 and heavily pregnant at the time and in hiding - where she stayed for 5 years and just raised her child. I think anyone blaming her for not doing more is a sycophantic weirdo and perhaps need to accept that Britney Spears isn’t reliable when it comes to her memory or ‘her truth’. I’m not saying the conservatorship isn’t awful - it was! But it had nothing to do with JL and everything to do with a greedy sadistic father, whom JL was likely a victim of too

Funnily enough Bryan Spears was 4 years older than Britney yet nobody ever blamed him for not getting her out the conservatorship. Not when they can blame a pregnant child instead who has to hide from stalking paparazzi

Do you remember the #FreeBritney movement about 6 or so years ago?

Since 2008 her dad has had a conservatorship - which is essentially total and full control of her life and finances after her very public breakdown and hospitalisation. He controlled all her finances - she couldn’t buy a chocolate bar without his say so. Her controlled her schedule, movements, access to her sons and who she could go and see. They are meant to ensure that patients at risk are unable to harm themsleves but the problem is that Britney’s was in place LONG after she overcame many of her MH issues. I think it was removed in about 2020.

Having said that I follow her on Instagram now she has personal control of it. Between the full frontal nudity and the weird dance videos with a messy top knot and panda eyes, it’s very clear she still had MH issues and I hope someone is looking after her

I. Just. Couldn't. I do have issues around food, and textures specifically, admittedly. But I wouldn't even try. None of that shit would be getting anywhere near my mouth.

Key point though @TrishIsMySpiritAnimal is that usually people (women!) under conservatorships are not able to function, never mind work & yet she was busier and earning millions for everyone around her during that 10 year period.

I completely agree that she appears to have MH issues currently but unless shes a danger to herself or others, she should be free to do what she wants - including wasting all her money if she so chooses!

I hope she has good people around her now who are genuinely looking out for her best interests and not exploit her for money, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case.
