Although he was just 'exposed' in the Weatherfield Gazette.

Brahumbug · 16/10/2023 21:58

Trouble is, Peter has confessed to the crime, he stated he wanted Stephen dead, that is a confession in law.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 17/10/2023 00:16

It all felt so contrived. One minute Sally and Gail were praising Peter to the hilt; the next they were accusing him of murder. (And he was virtually confessing in the middle of a police station 🙄)

Totally.
It's the same as Sally appearing mildly concerned one minute, and then losing her mind the next!

WiddlinDiddlin · 17/10/2023 04:56

The bloody blank looks from DC StroppyKnickers and ArCraigy when Sally mentioned Tims phone still going to voicemail. They should know by know, they should have known DAYS ago, that it was Tims phone that made the tip off, and probably found it by now.

Sally definitely does not know when to shut up!

I expect the car was left with the ignition on so the built in radio relying on the car battery was dead. Fortunately there was a back up with its own battery supply in the glove box.

ruby1957 · 17/10/2023 07:29

I was also confused about the state of the car/Tim - did not evil Stephen splash petrol over the car and then failed to set it on fire -would the fumes not still be present.
Why did the dog-walker and dog not return? - that would have made a nice end to Tim's ordeal!
The arrest - it seemed very wrong in some way - hearsay evidence would not necessarily have led to arrest for MURDER surely even fictional police do not do it that way - was he cautioned or did I just miss it.

I know soaps are never very realistic - but it was almost farcical that Tim was able to pry open the boot drink a mouthful of water and manage to get to the roadside and flag down a passing car after being tied up for 2 days.

Daffodilsandtuplips · 17/10/2023 08:20

I wondered about the fumes from the petrol but reckoned after two days it would have evaporated but I’m no expert.
Peters arrest seemed odd. And why is Craig always present at every crime scene, the police officers I know in my family are all stationed away from their home towns.

Exactly. I cringed when Craig said the call ended too quickly to trace it. The police can trace even dropped 999 calls!

Lorrymum · 17/10/2023 09:41

Did they really need to handcuff Peter?

Daffodilsandtuplips · 17/10/2023 10:07

Weatherfield Police methods of detection, arrest protocol and interviewing techniques should be a training video on how NOT to do it.!
Mother of God…H from Line of Duty needs to get his uniform back on and sort them out.

JMSA · 17/10/2023 10:28

Tim got lucky, wandering off with a head injury. I thought he'd be better off in the car with his hand pressed down on the horn 🤷‍♀️

Hellendegenerate · 17/10/2023 11:07

@Lorrymum

Yes because it gave Arcraigy something "important" to do 😐.

For a detective he still looks like he would jump in fear if someone said Boo to him. At least Stroppyknickers appears to have some experience. Not looking like she came from uniformed wpc to detective in a fortnight.

I can imagine the writers suggesting some of these storylines while covering their mouths and giggling. 😮

KeepSmiling89 · 17/10/2023 11:22

Just caught up on the last of last week's episodes and all I keep thinking of is how Audrey was like "he didn't deserve this" - well neither did Leo, Teddy or Rufus!
He was sorry (did Audrey say this?) - so that makes murdering 3 people and drugging someone to the point where they think they're having a psychosis episode ok? Even Stephen said he wasn't sorry at one point! She even saw him holding a broken bottle to Jenny's neck, but he's still her golden boy who can't do anything wrong!

Audrey - wake up you silly woman! Your golden boy was a murderer! Peter did the whole street a favour by hitting him with the car...but of course he'll be the bad guy in all of this.

SO BLOODY FRUSTRATING!!!

Iwantacampervan · 17/10/2023 12:09

When Sally was having a go at Gail about Stephen I picked up on her saying that she had a murderer in her house again - a reminder of Richard and other husbands. I do like it when they remember the past correctly and don't try to rewrite history - maybe the writers are watching Classic Corrie.

DelilahJane · 17/10/2023 12:19

I religiously watch classic Corrie but dip in and out of current Corrie

I just realized that Carla and Peter live above the cab office! I always assumed it was in the same modern block as Leanne and Sarah's!

How did they explain the massive refurb from grotty flat to plush apartment

My husband is a mechanic and said it would’ve evaporated.

bizzey · 17/10/2023 16:25

He doused it in petrol before he drove it to the woods .
He was disturbed by some one at the canal ?

How can you drive a car doused in petrol?

bizzey · 17/10/2023 16:26

Well obviously you can ...but would it not have caught fire ?

I’m so sad about wondering who lives where that I went and made a list!
Billy and Paul live above Preston’s Petals which in CC is Peters bookies, currently the home of Sarah & Todd. The layout is completely different!

I thought he doused it in the woods but was disturbed by he dog and ran off.

KeepSmiling89 · 17/10/2023 16:46

@Daffodilsandtuplips and @bizzey

I thought he doused it in petrol, was about to set it alight with a lighter, but heard/saw a helicopter overhead so thought that would draw attention to it so just left it.

bizzey · 17/10/2023 18:01

Why would the helicopter be over the woods ?
The body /roof box was found by the canal .

I have deleted my episodes now ...
Am I going to have to re watch!!

I am sure he doused it on concrete ground 🤔

Neverinamonthofsundays · 17/10/2023 18:02

Is it on tonight?

bizzey · 17/10/2023 18:03

Though I was munching my way through a big magnum ice cream at the time ..so life could have just passed me by 🤣

bizzey · 17/10/2023 18:04

8-9 pm tonight.
