A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese, Thai & Chinese drama as & when.

but our list is cumulative so includes recommendations and favourites from all previous threads. Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. Re British tea - just a note that the tea drinking Asian nations (esp China), have far superior quality and varietal teas locally, than we get over here. I was recently in Azerbaijan (where Europe meets Asia) and was blown away by their teas, particularly their black tea.
I agree on the idea of giving British branded products eg book markers, key rings, tea towels etc.
Gosh, I can see me handing out cans of Irn-Bru!!

Lads. The Worst of Evil 👍👍👍👍 JCW having the time of his life and - predictably -I'm totally into gangland boss Wi Ha Joon 🔥. I'm giving a violence warning for the more sensitive among us - there's fights with iron bars, stabbing and plenty of blood and beatings within the first 20 mins. Also I forgot how much everyone used to smoke in the 90's. Disney+ is also daintily translating 'shibal' as 'damn'. These Gangnam gangsters are very nicely spoken. 😉

I think if JK wants to pull a girl (presumably one who is rightly wary of the every second every hour every day activity that's going to involve) he needs to be offering more than champagne and confetti because that's just even more sticky mess.
