Did anyone else see it?

it was teh first documentary about child birth i have ever watched and thought was good.

DP was totally clueless and terrified of child birth. she looked into all the possibilities and managed to relieve her own fears through education.

I think it should be used in schools.

Just because someone doesn't concur with your opinion doesn't mean they're somehow warped, jealous, wrong, etc.

It's simply a difference of opinion.

superlative · 03/03/2008 22:38

glad you agree! I was really worried about sex being worse after giving birth but now I have hope!

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 22:39

Oh, yes, take it from a presenter whose never had children, sex is definitely different after giving birth. For sure it will be what you are most worried about after having a child .

AitchTwoOh · 03/03/2008 22:40

although you don't concur with my opinion on DP so i might be forced to accuse you of being stooooopid...

really then? do young women respond to this? watching a child-woman Google? how utterly depressing.

AitchTwoOh · 03/03/2008 22:41

ime orgasms are better after birth. and mine were something to write home about before.

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 22:42

you learn to use your time wisely when it comes to sex after birth and really make it count when you get the chance .

superlative · 03/03/2008 22:48

I'm really looking forward to my birth now...I least I know I'll hang on to my sense of humour and prob spring back afterwards I've lost weight already during my pregnancy and was worried something was wrong...

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 22:50

Yes, it's very funny, the whole process. A real giggle! There's even a thread on here, funny birth stories .

I lost tons of weight after having DD1. It was great.

I got PND and lived on coffee and fags. I was a stick .

AitchTwoOh · 03/03/2008 22:51

i lost weight too, it was bloody great. i was thinner than i'd ever been after the birth. such fun. unfortunately bfing didn't go brilliantly for me but i ate like it was... put a lot of it back on again.

superlative · 03/03/2008 23:02

stay positive ladies......keep smiling...
I was 15 stone so I'm definately happier now! Thinner and a baby! (Thanks for the breastfeeding thing! Will not pig out!)

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 23:02

yep, i've been through this so many times and still keep signing up for more.

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 23:05

i even got forceps the first time round!

i felt positive about knowing that after she delivered the baby i wouldn't have to be pregnant anymore.

readytopop · 03/03/2008 23:12

Lucky you!!! It's fab being able to bend again

3 quick ones and counting...

expatinscotland · 03/03/2008 23:14

oh, no, ready, i'll hopefully be delivering baby no. 3 in november.

i usually try to avoid all shows which depict childbirth because i know what's coming .

readytopop · 03/03/2008 23:26

same as. I only found myself watching last night (well, early hours of the morning) as dd2 had midnight munchies, and boobs too full to do usual plug and sleep method.

was it me or were some of her comments/actions a bit ? what was she up to with the melon?

and the urge to brush her hair...My 2yr olds is tidier than that with a bed-head

ShakeysGirl · 03/03/2008 23:32

I like her I think she was lucky that she witnessed two easy births rather than a 48 hour forceps followed by emergency section type births.

Well just watched it tonight, and I liked the angle she took on it, I think there must be many woman who are not yet at the point in their lives to have kids who are pretty culeless about it all. Like most woman I didn't do any serious reading on the subject until I was actually pregnant and I had no friends that had had kids so didn't have any experience of it at all.

Expat Her-yooooooge congratulations. Fantastic news.

AitchTwoOh · 04/03/2008 10:47

she is stupid because she is 28 and acts like a giggling 13 year old. it's all about Dawn...

it's a style of moronic femail article documentary that i have no respect for, and i do find it hard to respect people who like them. no need to swear at me.

AitchTwoOh · 04/03/2008 12:03

plus, i do know a leeetle bit about bbc3 programming because of my profession and in fact stupid people are exactly who their docs are aimed at. the literature says '16-24 demographic', the people who work there translate that as 'stoopids'. oh yes they do...
