I'm intending to do some binge watching. I don't like sitcoms eg stuff like Friends and Emily in the City or romantic comedies.
I don't like black comedy.
I don't like futuristic or sci fi stuff.
I do like murders, true stories, serious dramas, historical ones.
I do like Scandi and other European dramas.
Any suggestions please?

I just finished season 1 in a weekend. But if OP doesn't like sci-fi she might not be in to it

I've just binged SAS Rogue Heroes on the BBC iPlayer.

Not something I would usually watch but it was funny and oddly charming, based on a true story. I ended up being rather fond of this ragtag bunch of men raiding fuel dumps and runways in the desert in WW2.

It's got a bunch of shirtless men in it which helps, and a not directly referenced homosexual love story.

Netflix Fake Profile. I had to watch it dubbed but didn't detract at all

ChocChipHandbag · 03/07/2023 18:29

What about documentaries/factual shows? I recently watched all the episodes of DNA Family Secrets on the BBC, and there is a new series of Who Do YouThink You Are? which has been great. I also love David Olusoga’s A House Through Time.

Absolutely everyone HAS to watch Couples Therapy on bbc iplayer. It’s so ground breaking, informative, addictive. Just the best thing on tv. Not preachy, even though it’s contexts are American. it’s just a beautiful piece of work. I can’t tell more people about it !

BlueRabbitYellow · 08/07/2023 00:41

Ice Cold Murders on Channel 4. It's an Italian crime drama set in the mountains of Northern Italy with a maverick detective who smokes pot and wants to be in the warmth of Rome. Italian subtitles. Stick with the first episode, it makes sense towards the end. I'm really enjoying it. Tbh I've seen some great dramas under the Walter Presents titles.

Crunched · 08/07/2023 00:48

The Wham documentary on Netflix is very nostalgic.

DollyTheFluffyOne · 08/07/2023 09:58

Thanks again.
