Who will go with them? Is there time for new bombshells? 12 days to go. Bring it.

I think Tom and Samie and Lana and Ron will be in final just not sure if it will be Sanam and Kai or Will and Jessie with them. I'd like Sanam and Kai to win they really seem the most genuine although not the most entertaining. Samies bitchiness is not an attractive quality, I don't think Toms particularly like that but he does seem to respect and follow what Samie says.

Look at the votes from last week as well, though. We got the actual %ages for that one. On this one it was top 3, with no idea if they were closely matched or one/two were way ahead of the others.

I do think they wanted to leave Tom&Samie with the idea that they are really popular.

But the public and, since club night the Islanders, know who the top 4 couples are. We know that as of last week there were two that were much higher ranked than the other two of that four. Not sure that's really changed much

Aquarius1234 · 06/03/2023 18:03

Ron and Lana are horrible. Not sure why people like them. Neither have a personality very boring.

Aquarius1234 · 06/03/2023 18:03

Sly bitchy too. Not fun to watch what they have to say.

It's been clear from early days that the producers were lining up Ron and Lana for the final. It was the Ron and Lana show early on, then they let them lie low once people got riled up. Now they're being shown in a more sympathetic light. It's so obvious! And Ron was right about the game plan: make a name for yourself early on then leave plenty of time to redeem yourself and create your 'against all odds' love story. And it's worked by the sound of it here 😅

I'm not sure how showing Samie to be snaky and showing Rosie blatantly twist that conversation is the producers showing Ron in a sympathetic light? It happened? If the producers had been lining them up to win, they can't be very clever as they showed awful bits of Ron originally and couldn't have been sure he'd redeem himself.

Smth · 06/03/2023 18:48

Come on, we all know this show is heavily edited to fit story lines and create drama. It's as far from 'reality' than a 'reality show' can get 😁

Lots of islanders have said similar things and they are with them all day every day. So if we aren't seeing Ron's negative traits now it will seem that Samie is out of order for suggesting it.
I also don't see how it was snaky either when she was upfront and went to speak to Lana about what they'd said 🤷🏽‍♀️

As for them showing Rons bad bits early on, Ron spelled it out already. You get that bit out of the way early, get noticed/make a name for yourself. And then you have plenty of time to redeem yourself once you've picked someone to settle down with.

At the end of it all, I don't think any of it should be taken at face value. They're all in it for what they can make of it afterwards don't put any stock in any of their short showmances..none of it's deep 😅

Zampa · 06/03/2023 18:51

We're all being manipulated to have certain opinions of the islanders but I've accepted that.

I think Tom and Samie could still win it but I'm more in the Ron and Lana camp now. They'll be top two with Will and Jessie third and Kai and Sanam 4th (although I'd like them to win).

Casey and Rosie and Tanya and Shaq will be out next.

Smth · 06/03/2023 16:35

I'm surprised at PP calling Rosie needy and assuming she'd be a nightmare GF. Other islanders have noticed that Casey doesn't bother gravitating towards the woman he's with (they noticed he was like this with Claudia too so not just because because it's new with Rosie)
I've also noticed a few off things with him in the past.
Off the top of my head:

On his date with Lana she said something like 'lucky boy' and he corrected her 'lucky GIRL'
No fun or playfulness in the way he said it.

Rosie said something about how he's going to have to put some effort in to her now that Keenan has shown an interest and he said 'no I don't' again no playfulness.

Then the other day he told Rosie she needs to bite her tongue after a minor misunderstanding with Jessie.

My memory is terrible so no idea why I remember these things but they just stuck in my mind. I just get 'nice guy' vibes from him (and I sadly have a lot of experience with this type of man) and i don't envy Rosie being with him, she can do SO much better.

I really agree with this. He's both sly and shifty, and controlling. I noticed 'lucky girl' too and 'no I don't'. There's something shark-like about him.

But Rosie's still a nightmare girlfriend/friend all the same. OMG I can almost feel the combo of entitlement and aggression that she'd radiate in RL.

It was snaky as she told most of the islanders BEFORE Lana.

I really can't see Ron purposely acting like a wanker as part of his game plan. We all liked him at the start. Had he not messed Lana around and said a few questionable things, he'd have no doubt stayed favourite.

The islanders say a lot of things in there. Trouble is, a lot of them aren't the kind of people I'd say are particularly good judges of character. Most of them are out for themselves.

Smth · 06/03/2023 19:07

Maybe you're right about Rosie @WinterDeWinter I'm probably blinkered through my own nasty experiences with men like that and feel sorry for her if that's the case.

That being said though I haven't seen anything that bad from her? I think if Casey has made 2 women feel like they are playing second fiddle to other people then I don't think it's fair to call her needy, it's just how she feels. And perhaps she did genuinely interpret her conversation with Ron that way because she's feeling sensitive about her position with Casey.

Smth · 06/03/2023 19:14

They're all out for themselves really aren't they @CellophaneFlower

And Ron didn't think he was acting like a wanker at the start, so no being a twat probably isn't his game plan. I remember he kept saying that exploring connections is part of the show and that they don't need to be exclusive right off the bat. And actually he's not wrong, but for whatever reason Lana wanted exclusivity right from the start. But again, the producers of the show had a story to tell and it was obvious that Ron was going to end up with Lana in the end.

CellophaneFlower · 06/03/2023 19:22

And perhaps she did genuinely interpret her conversation with Ron that way because she's feeling sensitive about her position with Casey.

I get this - but although she admitted to Lana that she may have misinterpreted the conversation, she didn't say this to Casey. Btw I am in no way a Casey fan. Not all men are full on in relationships though, especially not such new ones, and there's nothing wrong with that.

That's what I mean though about the editing, did she only say it to Lana and not to Casey? Or is that just what they showed?
I remember seeing someone comment on the editing and they showed a video of someone's (sorry I can't remember who) false eyelashes on/falling off/completely off in different sequences...it was shown as one scene but the eyelashes showed that it was completely out of order and she was edited to look like she was reacting to things that she wasn't.

As for Casey, my opinions on him aren't based on him not being full on. Of course not all men are the same early in relationships, that goes without saying surely🤷🏽‍♀️

It was implied that Rosie was justified in thinking that Casey didn't spend enough time with her. I just find it odd someone would require so much reassurance so early on. That's why I said she appears needy. She surely can't expect to walk in and suddenly have the bond the other couples have immediately?

keepcalm11 · 06/03/2023 20:01

Can I ask do any more bombshells come in or is this it now ?

Smth · 06/03/2023 20:32

That's because spending time with someone isn't being full on (especially on a dating show when you go in specifically to get to know a love interest 😅) and wanting to spend time with someone getting to know them isn't needy.

My point is that both women felt they were second fiddle and that coupled with the other things I'd noticed about him gives me a negative impression of him.

They're all probably in it for what they can get afterwards rather than to find the love of their lives but maybe Casey just isn't as good at faking the romantic interest as the others, who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️

Did they do lie detector last season?

OP posts:
thecatsmeows · 06/03/2023 21:02

No, lie detectors have been voluntarily banned from all tv shows due to what happened with Jeremy Kyle.

Jellykat · 06/03/2023 21:06

'I'm not cleaning up all of that', well said Sammie.. shes a strong lady, fair play

Why is Lana putting makeup on to go to bed?

keepcalm11 · 06/03/2023 21:14

If Lana and Ron are genuine they could leave together now that's its gone sour with the others. 'We've found love and we don't need all this crap' ?

ChipsAreLife · 06/03/2023 21:17

@keepcalm11 it's only been one bad day? Feels extreme to leave. Also maybe they do but the producers will talk them into staying. There is only a week to go

Interesting.

I think Samie's behaviour has been abhorrent. She's spread a horrible story about Ron and has absolved herself of any responsibility.

thecatsmeows · 06/03/2023 21:22

Sammie is a shit stirrer. I suppose someone had to be after Olivia left.
