So I was a huge fan but fell off the wagon around end of season 9. I think, maybe beginning of season 10 need to check without finding out spoilers. I know there is the fear the walking dead, I’ve just started binging that and up to season 3. Should I finish that before I go back to the walking dead? Do them both at the same time? Is there a third branch with Rick/Daryl in? I’m trying to find out without coming across major spoilers at the same time!

Yeah they do stand alone, there are flashbacks for those that don't understand why Maggie hates Negan or why Carol doesn't like barn doors.

I like things in the post-apocalyptic genre, but I find zombies unfeasible and a bit ridiculous, which then distracts me from being able to immerse myself in the story.

Is one of these shows relatively zombie-free or are they all equally zombie-heavy?

I started at the beginning of twd during the summer just starting final season , have to say was warned after season7 that it got a bit shit. Looking forward to the spinoffs

I'm curious why you couldn't picture zombies. We already have fungus that turn their hosts into just that. Not the whole re-animate the brain stem granted, but ideas come from somewhere.

I stopped watching after Negan arrived and have started watching from the beginning again. I used to love it but not sure I have the energy to keep going. Do the spin offs stand alone or do you need to finish TWD first? I have the Daryl and Dead City recorded.

Edited

The whisperers were better than negan.

I just don't find zombies credible from a physiological point of view. Where does the energy come from? If cellular respiration then how is the oxygen and glucose getting to the tissues without a functioning circulatory system? The human body is a complex system; if even parts of this fail then mobility becomes impossible.

I managed to suspend disbelief enough to watch The Last of Us, but even that was a struggle.

The World Beyond and Fear the Walking Dead are terrible IMO. The Ones Who Live was dull, but we got a Rick/Michonne reunion, and the Drayl Spinoff is alright I suppose, but kinda same-y, as is the Maggie/Negan spinoff. They're really milking it for all its worth at this point, but I keep watching so more fool me!

To be fair, I had similar issues when watching Snowpiercer, but still ended up enjoying it in between my complaints about them completely ignoring the first law of thermodynamics and entropy.

I never get people who say that. Of course, it's absurd, but if you're going to watch something that includes the supernatural, you just accept they're possible in that universe and go with it.

I always wanted to know how they take a crap and eat some more.

But the last of us was clever. Since that fungus actually exists and does behave that way. It's got more potential to give the Heebie jeebies.
