Happy Valley finishes tomorrow. FOREVER 😭

I have never lived anything so much. What are we all going to watch afterwards? Sunday nights will never be the same.

I sandwich Vera and HV and bounce on my gym ball. It's my Sunday n

I'm glad there are to be a few more episode of Endeavour but I'll be wanting him to end up settling down with Joan Thursday and, having watched Morse, know that sadly it won't be happening.

AutisticLegoLover · 05/02/2023 22:33

Goodness. That was phenomenal and will probably never be beaten in my view in terms of acting. I'm still breathless and have made myself a hot chocolate and will watch Vera to calm myself.

I so enjoyed it - it was superb all round. But I have a Sgt Cawood shaped hole in my heart now!

Me too.

I’m enjoying “The Snow Girl” on Netflix. Have seen

It’s set in Malaga, Spain - where a little girl goes missing at a Christmas street festival. A newspaper reporter covering her story is having therapy for a past sexual attack. It’s a bit dark, but definitely worth a watch.

Someone at my gym has recommended “Three Pines” on Amazon Prime. It stars Alfred Molina who is a detective investigating murders in a mysterious village in Québec, Canada.

I did take a quick look on www.decider.com and it gives a “thumbs up” to both series.

Emotionalsupportviper · 06/02/2023 15:04

I can confirm that Three Pines is excellent.

I haven't seen the Snow Girl, though - thanks.

I might do a homage to Sarah Lancashire and watch all her shows. Rose and Maloney is on my list. I've binged Last Tango In Halifax far too quickly but loved it so much. I'd like more shows like that. I don't like seeing violence on TV but HV was not gratuitous violence. I love most detective shows. I've said shows too many times 😁

Evening all!

Really loved the ending last night.

Wanted to mention the only other show recently I’ve loved almost as much was State of Happiness - completely different as it’s not crime and set in Norway during the first discovery of oil 😂. But I felt almost as bereft when it ended.

It was just brilliant. I need something really good to watch. Have done Bridge Unforgotten, Halifax etc, any other suggestions with a Female lead?

Have you watched The Split? Great female led cast in that including Nicola Walker.

I've just got a couple of new books to go at but I'm keeping an eye out gì good suggestions. The ending of happy valley has left me feeling satisfied. It was done just right and whilst I'm a little disappointed there won't be any more, I don't feel there should be any more. Unless they make Ryan a cop and give him a nemesis. Even then I think it would be unnecessary. HV was perfect really and needs nothing else. It's a stand alone great and I won't forget it any time soon because it was so powerful. It was very close to home in places and very traumatic with poor Kirsten but it was superbly written and acted. I feel complete about it. I know that sounds daft and dramatic but it really got under my skin and I'd spend all week thinking about it and reading the threads on here. I'd talk about it daily IRL. It mattered. And now it's done and days later I still feel exhilarated by it. Sally Wainwright is one hell of a writer and the main cast were phenomenal. I'm totally in love with both Sarah Lancashire and James Norton. Just wow. It takes a lot to impress me but they have blown me away with this.

Has anyone tried Rose and Maloney? It's an old one but I'm going to start it this weekend I think.

Yeah, The Split was good!

Going for something totally different: Zelda, the beginning of everything. Amazon Prime. Woman who married F Scott Fitzgerald, played by Cristina Ricci
