Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse… I’m so confused! But laughing.
Anyone?

It's bonkers.

AndAllOurYesterdays · 27/10/2022 21:54

The tone is really odd and quite boring. We've just turned it off.

RiverSkater · 27/10/2022 21:55

It's not at all funny..... lost in translation maybe. Funny idea that hasn't worked.

whomoon · 27/10/2022 21:55

Same. I was willing for it to be good, but just turned it off. Telling the story of the BBC and social history was right up my street, there was just too many riddles

I was expecting to enjoy it, but didn’t.

veneeroftheyear · 27/10/2022 22:01

I liked it.

Allmouthnoaction · 27/10/2022 22:01

I bloody loved it, couldn't understand it but hilarious 😆

bellac11 · 27/10/2022 22:02

Its very cutting but we said here most people wont understand the references. We're not old but we understand history and politics so understood it

froginawell · 29/10/2022 14:03

I'm quite old so got a lot of the references. I thought it was brilliant

Mysterian · 29/10/2022 18:37

I liked it but was a bit surprised at the quirky style.

Must have cost an absolute pile.

rosegoldwatcher · 30/10/2022 19:37

We are in our early 60s and absolutely the best age to get all the TV references.

My favourite bit, by far, is Harry Enfield's brilliant rendition of Ricky Gervaise with just one word and a look.

Mogginsthemog · 31/10/2022 19:54

Very funny , more so the second half as I got more of the references.
Howard's Way, House of Cards and Pride and Prejudice were hilarious.

CosmopolitanPlease · 01/11/2022 10:16

I loved it, I really enjoyed the one about bbc2 he made a few years ago too.

Some of the references are a bit obscure and I suppose if you don't get them you won't appreciate it. Adam Curtis documentaries and Nuts in May for eg.

ThorsBedazzler · 03/11/2022 00:55

I loved it! I'm so surprised that the BBC actually showed it, it's hilarious but not flattering to the BBC at all. Which may have been the opposite of what it was meant to be?

I'm going to watch it again.

ThorsBedazzler · 03/11/2022 01:02

It really reminded me of "All watched over by machines of loving grace" that I watched just after my DD was born. Which is handy because that was made by Adam Curtis and the whole thing about the Love Box in your Living Room is that it basically mocks the Adam Curtis documentaries.

Snort. I don't know if that means I win a prize or I need a lie down.

But for the second time, I loved it. Absolutely loved it.
