Hmmm...no need to be quite so rude. Everyone will say "ooh well done".

FuzzyPuffling · 09/11/2022 14:11

No don't Ruhma. No more chances.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2022 14:15

Got to love a GP going out of their way to visit their patient anywhere they may or may not need them😬

That's not real ale, Al. That's lager. I thought you only drank "Gnat's Bottom" or similar.

😁 that was the first thing I said.

Not at all sure on the motivational pep talk leading to a slagging off the head of department no matter how rude and unbearable they’ve been.

Let's hope she never needs a reference.
I don't cheer people on when they do this (on telly) - it's cringey and unpleasant.

Raahh · 09/11/2022 16:22

I missed today live, so I am going to catch up now. .
Started well- this deluded arts student thinks Princess is great Grin

Al gets involved in a lot of protest type things. They don't always end well.

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/11/2022 16:36

I keep thinking about Princess- because the is not on the credits, and Scarlett (who has not been in it as longis). It makes me wonder if the character was only meant to be temporary / for the Sutton Vale stuff- but they've decided to keep her. Now they don't know what to do with her. She had a pretty mean character- and now they seem to be wanting to 'redeem' her- and ignore all the shady stuff that was hinted at before.

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/11/2022 16:43

If Princess is wearing one of her designs, mayb she ought to stay incognito. It all clashes nicely. Grin

It's taking me ages to watch this- and now the fashio show has gone all Cinderella/fairy godmother whilst they sort out Fashion show dress.

Oh no- drunk singing dateGrin

The rash would be barely visible with all the lights/dry ice anyway.

At least Jose took Ruhma the whole bunch of roses this time.

Say no Ruhma!

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/11/2022 16:53

Rosacea woman was quite rude, even if her boss was a cow.

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/11/2022 16:55

Ruhma should trust her instincts- if she goes on another date, he's bound to get drunk again.
And she will end up being serenaded by his whole dodgy songbook.

FuzzyPuffling · 09/11/2022 16:57

My dad used to sing "Oh my darling Clementine" to me when I was a small child. I am astounded to realise I can remember almost all of the words.
And also the tune (which drunk date man could not)

Raahh · 09/11/2022 17:04

Yes, the tune was a bit off. Grin
I caught part of Hollyoaks the other day, a group of 'young' people on a bus -I'm guessing they were meant to be mid 20 (actors probably in their 30s though)- were singing 'Daisy, Daisy'- It made me think that it would be very unlikely that anyone that age would know this, let alone sing it in public - would they? My gran always sang them to me growing up in the 70s- all the old 'music hall' classics. But they aren't really a thing at all now, are they? Maybe it's 'retro' Grin

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 10/11/2022 07:07

If it's retro I'm right on trend.

It's funny how I remember so many. But I don't remember ever really being taught them.
It's the same way I'm a bit sad my dc don't know all the traditional Christmas Carols properly- especially dd2-they stopped doing them much in primary, even the choir Christmas concerts started featuring random songs like things from the Lion KingHmm. and we aren't church go-err, so she won't earn them there. She played steel pans at her final year 6 concert- and played 'Diana ' by Paul Anka - that well known festive classic Grin(Made a change from 'Price tag'- 10 years of dc learning steel pans at the school- I hated Price Tag).

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/11/2022 07:32

*learn them

I don't think you need to earn Christmas Carols Grin

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 10/11/2022 08:02

I agree. I don't remember learning the Lord's prayer or the National Anthem either, but I certainly know them.

I had to sing a medley of Music Hall songs in a concert a few years ago ( not my choice) and I realised how many I knew. Sad!

Raahh · 10/11/2022 08:17

Fuzzy I was shocked to discover, that dd2 (probably the other 2, but they are a little bit older and not in 'school')doesn't know the National Anthem properly (well, the first verse ,at least!)- this was around the Jubilee- and then subsequently the Queen's funeral. I mean, we don't sing it on a daily basis Grinand I'm sure she has been taught it, but I suppose it just doesn't get sung at events as much as it once did (at least not things she goes to- things like Brownies were cut short by covid- and even then, I think they cut back on the 'monarchy' stuff).

She recognised it from the Olympics.

“…off went the van with me home packed in it, I walked behind with me old cock linnet”
Sung with not a hint of a Midlands accent.

We sing that tune but with different, very very different, words at the football.
