Strictly '22 Thread 3 — Time for our first eliminee

It's easily done. I called DS by the dog's name today.
I found Strictly a bit underwhelming this week. No one stood out. I loved Fleur last week but they told her to tone it down and she was a bit dull tonight. Loved Johannes though!

Obviously she got the names mixed up. But the comment 'all these Italian boys it gets confusing' is a bit disrespectful and rude.

I loved Ellie S, it was such a beautiful dance it brought a tear to my eye! So touching and done with such happiness.

What time does the vote close? Couldn't find times anywhere.

DD1 and I didn't vote for anyone this week because we haven't warmed to anyone enough yet to really get behind them. Last year there were several couples we really liked. This year a lot of the celebs seem a bit meh.

That said, so far we're quite enjoying:

• Ellie T and Johannes because they're both funny,
• Kai and Kaye just because we both fancy Kai and even though Kaye is quite boring we want them to stay in for a while so we can enjoy looking at Kai,
• Will seems nice (never seen any TV he's in) and seems to be giving it a go, Nancy is less annoying than when she and Rhys were constantly hyper,
• Tony can't dance but God loves a trier and all hail Katya for dragging him through that dustman routine with some credit!
• Nikita is a total sweetheart.

Less positive:

• Think the show is really missing Oti and Aljaz, although Vito is gorgeous,
• Never have been able to stand Ritchie, he and Zoe Ball are the reason I switched off Radio 2 in the mornings, sorry Gio but I'm going out to make a cup of tea while Ritchie's on. Hope Gio's fanclub doesnt keep them in too long,
• Matt Goss is so weird and despite Nadiya's efforts a terrible dancer,
• Several really boring personality-free celebs, I'll be glad when numbers have been thinned down a bit,
• Yet again Dianne has someone who looks promising but will let her down by getting booted before Blackpool,
• I love Karen but Jayde is very stompy and I think the judges are being a bit kind with their marks.

I found the room inexplicably dusty after Ellie S's dance. Not so much the dance itself, but her happy tears at the end of it. I don't think she'll win but it looks like she'll do some lovely dances and have a wonderful time. Nikita's doing a great job.

Didn't vote for her this week because it would be a waste of a vote - everyone on the top half of the board is completely safe at this point.

Agree with what others have said re.
Shirley’s hair/wig - gorgeous, really suited her
The pie and mash - also looked great (even more glad I had it for lunch after work today 😉)
Tony - definitely missed a lift right near the end, it looked as if Katya rolled off his back
Nikita - a keeper and a half, he and Ellie lovely together
Molly - ring-a-ding-ding... like the pairing, her and Carlos, though. I reckon they’ll go far

The singers - every year there’s talk about them “murdering” the songs, but they always sound somewhere between okay and very good to me; not like the original artists necessarily, but I don’t think that matters.
Matt’s Botox - he hasn’t had a little bit, he’s had a lot (the eyelashes are extensions)

I don’t think Kym likes, or is used to being criticised. That said, I liked her dance and thought she was better than some of the judges’ comments implied.

Finally got online to vote at 9.09pm to find the voting closed! I thought it was open until 9.15 😥

Our vote went to Tyler, Jade and Ellie S. We think Matt is probably going to go.

usually I would agree but there was one song where the singer was off key. I think it was Kym's dance.

I'm generally fine with the singers but I did think that Runaway was dreadful.

Runaway was shocking. I couldn't wait for it to end - no reflection on Kym, who was dancing well but it must have been off putting having rehearsed all week to the real thing.

Ellie S moved me. Nikita did a lovely job on that dance. The ending made me quite emotional.

Richie was all over Joe like crab at the end. Joe looked proper awkward at the effusive ‘I love you’. Vicky Gill needs to do him a gag.

Loved Johannes ‘I saw you mamma’ after the other Ellie.

I just saw Luke being smuggled along for the ride in Matt’s breeks.

Shirl looked fab.

Apparently Matt is literally missing muscle mass, as he’s got something called Poland Syndrome.

Getting a bit peeved with the learning over the men.can’t imagine if Anthon did this to the woman

Richie was not "all over Gio". The latter frequently initiated the hugs. They seem to get on well and Richie is working hard, which is what the Pro wants. I really liked their dance.

I agree. Completely bonkers.

Jayde is annoying, not a good dancer, and then those tears again. Hope she goes tonight, but pretty certain she won't.

I surprised myself by really enjoying Richie and Gio - all credit to Gio’s choreography there. Jayde on the other hand is a real disappointment - so heavy-footed when she moves, with very little grace or elegance.

I agreed with the judges that James needs to stand up straight. Oti would have been all over that posture in Week 1 if she’d been partnering him. It ruined what might have been a reasonable tango.

Thought Nikita choreographed that waltz beautifully to manage the height difference.

Loved the different side to Fleur - I thought it was a good move to show that so transparently in comparison to last week. Will suffered by doing two fast dances in a row, I think - we haven’t got to see the light and shade yet.

Really surprised by Tony - great work by Katya there! But they definitely missed that final lift, really obviously.

Gorka and Helen - sweetly pretty but there’s no ‘wow’ factor yet.

I thought Molly’s dance was very accomplished but I cannot warm to Carlos at all. Something about him really unnerves me!

um - other people also danced. It was a very long show!

Just rewatched Molly's dance again and it was really great! If you compare it to R&G's it's far better in terms of footwork, yet only scored two points more... R&G were overmarked. I was distracted by my kids and missed the chance to vote... but I would have gone for Ellie T, Kym and Tyler.

Oh I like Carlos. I want them to have babies 🤣

Yes I saw that with TA he almost dropped her.

I didn't know that about Matt? I tried watching the Bros documentary but couldn't stand it. He seemed to be awful to Luke?
