Sex and the City fans - is anyone watching The Carrie Diaries

I am enjoying it but Carrie is a different Carrie to the Carrie from satc. Unselfish, calm and basically the dream teen. And she has a sister who never was never mentioned in satc.

How have I missed this?! I’m a die hard SATC fan so will get on it.
As a side note; I walked past Carrie’s apartment in NYC last month, the street is gorgeous.
